Idea for standartizing old Soviet MBTs preserved at military bases by using resized Izdeliye 2195617 autoloader, originally installed on Black Eagle tank. It decreases ammo rack protection, but ensures high crew survivability, fast reload and easy ammo replenishment. The crew may be put way below than it was, originally, thus making the turret semi-inhabitated.
Cast turret gets a cut in the rear, an adapter block with 40mm thick plates gets welded to it. The autoloader bustle gets attached thanks to the adapter itself. Izdeliye 2195617 is designed on Leclerc bustle autoloader reference, which can load projectiles in just five seconds. It is also equipped with blowout panels. The adapted block may act as additional protection, in addition with armored door between the bustle and the tank interior.
Further, the autoloader protection could be enhanced by installation of Contact-1 and 4S22 (Relict) blocks, to solve or minimize the issues with grenade launchers and ATGMs.

I love this concept of autoloading mechanism and it gives a new fresh looking to the Soviet designs. As much as it looks cool I really don’t like the Object 640 just because it’s not under the BFG regulations, jokes aside, I have and I’ll give special treatment to the 152,4 mm concepts.
Talking more about the design, I believe it never went forward perhaps mechanical issues, costs and even could leave the vehicle more exposed to damage: You can’t simply put explosive reactive armor in a thin layer of metal expecting it to protect, but it will cause even more damage.
damn, so the idea similar to mine with cast turret/autoloader adapters actually was used irl? What’s the object number though? Also, this autoloader is much thinner providing full protection from the front, I wonder if it has entire shells and charger or just charges.
It’s object 188 (T-90), don’t know about the specific name for this project though.
