HISTORY
The Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace is one of three companies under the Kongsberg group and is a continuation of Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk. Kongsberg makes products for both defense and aerospace, and has over a number of years developed a number of very successful products such as the Naval Strike Missiles, Penguin ASW to mention a few and the market leading protector series, featuring multiple families of remote controlled weapon stations and turrets , which countries all over the world have already started integrating on their vehicles and vessels even.

As a result of constant development and new ideas and to get new customers, they regularly have demonstrations where they show potential, and this is one of those. This is an 8x8 Mowag Piranha which to my knowledge is Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace’s own vehicle, that they often use to demonstrate various kinds of combinations and weapon stations on, the most recent combination we have seen was with the Kongsberg RS6 with a 30x113mm cannon for live fire demonstrations at Hengsvann in 2023/24. This specific version with the Kongsberg RS4 “Dual” weapon station integrated however were fist seen around 2019. This is the only image i have found of this so far, and it is a Kongsberg RS4 with an Heckler & Koch 40x53mm automatic grenade launcher, this is easy to identify, as the muzzle brake of the launcher is quite characteristic with the ports, and also it’s barrel is quite thick. On the side we have the FN MAG as is easy recognized, especially with the characteristic stock. This image is taken by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace somewhere in Norway, i am quite sure this is a demonstration where the 40mx53mm ammunition has also been demonstrated tested.

The Mowag Piranha is an armoured fighting vehicle that has been developed and designed by the Swiss company General Dynamics European Land Systems also often written Mowag GmbH. There is a lot of variants of this vessel, among other things it can come in 4x4 and up to 10x10 and with various amounts of protection. The vehicle is in use by a Number of nations.

IN GAME
I don’t know which role this would have in game, if it would be classified as a light tank or as a tank destroyer. Its ammunition can penetrate over 65mm of RHA and it should have access to airburst ammunition, it also has an max range of 2.200 with a muzzle velocity of 240ms, which probably would be the biggest downside of this. However i believe that with its speed and maneuverability, combined with its sensors and great close range abilities, would do great if played right in-game.
