I’ve already opened a thread discussing the odd behavior of the FV4005’s 183 mm gun. Honestly, I find it extremely inaccurate that it has difficulty destroying vehicles like the Ferdinand, IS-2, or american T34 with a single shot. Therefore many, including myself, have raised the issue of HESH.
However, given that a fix for this bug (because it cannot be considered otherwise) is not planned, I would propose moving the FV4005 to 5.3 for the following reasons:
- Practically any vehicle can be one-shotted by the FV4005, making it consistent with its “glass cannon” nature. No stalinium-built IS-2s (unless you’re in a full uptier), unflappable Ferdinands, or adamantium-built T29s. Ofc, as I said, in reality the FV should be capable of destroying all these vehicles easily… but in the game, it isn’t.
- Bringing consistency to the UK 5.3 lineup. Honestly, this move would ruin one of my favorite lineups: 7.0, with Conway, Tortoise, Ratel 90, G6, and FV4005. That said, it would make perfectly sense. Great Britain has 7 vehicles with BRs of 6.3/6.7 (+1 premium): more than enough to guarantee a complete lineup for non-premium players. 5.3, on the other hand, is a completely different story. There are no 5.7 vehicles, and only three 5.3 vehicles (including one anti-aircraft). There are also no 5.0 vehicles. A player playing 5.3 would have a lineup consisting of the Challenger, Comet (both very similar tanks), and Bosvark, with the option of adding four 4.7 vehicles: the Firefly, Avenger, Concept III (all three with very similar stats to the Challenger and Comet), or the Churchill VII (completely unplayable on 5.3). To sum all up: the 5.3 lineup is limited and lacks variety. The FV4005 could help make the lineup more consistent.
I hope I’ve made a valid point. Have a good day everyone!
