we wanted aim9m because russia was announced to be given the r73 with the same IRCCM as the magic 2 that already was in game by then.
ITS HIM? damn no wonder
Dodge an R530 and you will have to flare the Magic 2
Dodge an AIM-7M and you will have to flare the AIM-9M
Whats your point?
not worth talking to him
The Yak-141 FM is quite underrated, I feel like the larger issue is only 4 missiles at 12.0. Sure, it’s slow but it has F-5C syndrome of having really good energy retention past mach .9, so it does omegalul 14G turns on min fuel like an F-16A with minimal speed loss. The OP of this thread really overrates the dogfight performance of the 141 though, probably because I used it in a custom vs them. Verses the F-16As it will win if the fight gets really slow but an F-16 that merges correctly will literally win in the first turn every time if they don’t miss the easy shot.
If you have been in r/warthunder recently, you’ll notice that there are many posts talking about “russian bias” and how Russia is too good.
Case and point: a new pointless thread just went up.
Excuse me what? How is F-15 bad, I think it’s literally the 2nd best jet in the game only beaten by the JAS-39
[grammar nerd session start]
It’s “Case in Point”.
The case is “WT reddit moans about bias all the time”, and the in point is a brand new thread moaning about bias that just showed up.
For example: “You can ignore what the WT reddit says about anything, their discussions devolve into group whine sessions about bias. Case in point, there’s a new thread complaining about it that was made a minute ago.”
“Case and point” is redundant, as case refers to “an example or specific occurance” of something (WT reddit moaning about bias) and point refers to “an objective or purpose for an argument” (new threads bemoaning bias on WT reddit).
Thus a “correct” usage of case and point would be written something like “WT reddit is constantly bemoaning bias, and this new thread proves my case and point”. Which is correct, but still not using the saying (case in point) correctly.

Huh, thats actually useful. I will try to avoid making the same mistake in the future, thanks!
Breh not him…
As opposed to you which is “anything that killed me is OP, must go up by 2.0 BR”
I mean the sad bit is your whole BR changes thing is actually quite a sensible idea. We do need decompression. The problem is more your methodology and reasoning for reaching that conclusion.
I mean I will be real, it’s probably one of the few jets in the Russian tree i’d really like because that thing looks hella spicy in the WVR arena.
The things that (I assume) let it down are the limited payload and the fact that the moment you go 50ft above the floor you get bombarded with a deluge of Radar guided missiles. That and 1v1ing someone by cranking the Thrust Vectoring to max is highly situational.
I got myself the Yak before the MiG-29, and when I caught up the MiG branch, the 29 was a bit of a letdown. It eventually grew on me, but I still enjoy flying the Yak a bit more. It’s held back by the lack of countermeasure and the SPO-15 being the SPO-15, but still you get to not carry not R-60s as your IR missile, wich is nice.
If I go in there knowing SPO-15 is a dogpile i’ll be fineeeee
but that’s reassuring.
It’s the only plane in russian top rank/tier that has a good FM.
Im still amazed that complained so hard and got what they wanted.
Wait, no I’m not.
The current BR is fine, actually I’m having a good time with F15A and F14B recently. No need to decompress.
Try playing the 11.0 bracket range, you have barely subsonics facing supersonic IRCCMs and the best dogfighter airframes in the game, or any phantom, 11.3 facing f15s that beat it in every category, or 8.7 where you face a jet that flies so fast nothing below 9.7 can touch it unless there’s a misplay, the current 8.0+ bracket range for GRB and ARB is very compressed
Thankfully, that is fairly common
but yeah, everything north of about 7.0 is a mess. My most hated BR bracket is 9.3/9.7. Every match is uptiered due to the 10.3 premiums
this guy isn’t biased what so ever…
