I can fully agree, that the MG 151/20 are way too weak and very bad.
It’s very depressing, when you are hitting an enemy plane several times with your 20mm Minengeschosse, but they litteraly do absolutly no damage.
When I play the HE-162 it’s the same, or the 8.7 ME-163B. It’s very frustrating to play like this. It’s already not easy to hit enemy jets with those belts, so it would be only fair, if they would do their historical damage.
Otherwise, when I am playing the 8.0 ME-163 with the 30mm Minengeschosse, as soon as I hit an enemy plane, it explodes and is gone, contrair to the 20mm.
I don’t think that’s an accurate depiction of reality :)
Hispanos were used long after WW2 and in modifed forms in Jet fighters.
The US developed a 20x102mm cartridge from the .60cal AT gun project, which resulted in basically a lighter Hispano shell fired at higher muzzle velocity.
Both Hispano and MG 151/20 had advantages and disadvatages but both were potent weapons.
Well, makes sense since the MK 108 hit like 4-5 times as hard.
Guns and ammo just need a general rework instead of Gaijin changing a bit here leaving, everything completely inconsistent.
Whether a plane has two MG 151/20 or Hispanos should make little difference in the performance.
The Hispano has better velocity while the MG 151/20 has slightly better RoF and deals more damage to structure with Mineshells at the expense of fragments.
