More option to SSAA, add 2x, 3x instead of just 4x or off

Hello
Currently, in-game, SSAA is the best setting to eliminate aliasing and smooth out edges in the game.
However, this setting is extremely demanding just like the warning. enabling this setting alone can bring down up to 100 fps in gameplay. But the image quality of it is worth it in many cases. A good middle ground between this is SSAA 2x which is currently only possible by changing this line in the config file: backgroundScale:r=1.5 (4x is 2), which offer little to no difference to 4x and doesn’t took as much performance.

For example, comparison between settings

1440p SSAA off

1440p SSAA 2x

1440p SSAA 4x

As you can see in these picture (it would be more noticeable if you do it in-game and see it in-person while moving). The quality between SSAA 2x and 4x is indistinguishable, however 2x offer much more comfortable FPS for gameplay. But this config will go away if we change any setting again, or we had to set the config file to read only. So, my proposal is that since there is a graphical overhaul going on right now, adding more option to SSAA should also be one of the considerations, as of right now we can already do that with the config file, making it an in-game setting would be very appreciated.
Thank you.

As a fellow SSAA enjoyer I would love to see this!

PS; why can’t I enable SSAA on the DEV?

I can’t enable it either. Maybe they disabled it to work on something, or it’s jsut a bug

A very necessary option. In the current dev version SSAA is not available for some reason. As it turned out, SSAAx4 consumes more than high ray tracing.

This is needed so badly. I use 2x with the config, but that is very limiting and it makes it so you cant change any graphic changes or post-fx changes while in game because the config must be changed to “read only”

I need this as well. It would definetly help me run the game better with ray tracing coming in the next update.

I tried x2 and it looked very weird for me. I’d much rather have a proper resolution slider so I can set it to just 115% instead

this also works haha. I just need anything customizable between really blocky and really clean but laggy
