NE is because of SPAA systems.
& if you remove multipath [removing is unrealistic] then players will NEVER get PVP frags in nuclear escalation as SPAA would get all the frags instead.
Or, they can make the maps bigger and make the SAMs less OP and add ECM.
Its annoying being in a BVR truck in that gamemode because you are DOA.
You cant sit high because of the OP SAMs, you cant kill anyone because of MP and you cant stick low because you loose every dogfight.
Tried the Sea Harrier FA2 and it was a total waste of 15 minutes, could do absolutely nothing.
The map is already bigger.
Reducing the power of SPAAs literally brings everyone back up in altitude.
Multipath doesn’t need to change.
The map is tiny. 99% of the combat occurs within a 60kmx100km area. forward AFs are only 48km apart.
That is tiny for any NE BR, especially higher BRs. larger would mean the maps are 256x256km and the long range SAMs like the S-300s/SAMP-Ts would be 150km+ apart not 50km
Great. That is good.
Yes it does, its totally ahistorical.
That’s completely wrong. I multipath only in last resort in my opinion, any missile can be countered.
Coming to the conclusion of not dying only because of abusing that meta is wrong; if you want a better range for your missiles, climb, it’s logic. long Range SPAA is a very important target, and if you fly fast enough, you can still chaff ASter and other LR missiles.
Multipating is not a method used IRL to aboid missiles nowadays. Specifically to prove my point, I’ve found 2 case of ‘recorded’ low altitude interception.
It’s just another playstyle that need to be learned, IRL it’s not as easy as just flying under 30m and you will survive anything. Reùeùber the Su-34 that escaped a PAC-3 Patriot, the guys were sweating to death, and they did not flew in a straight line at 10m radar alt.
Problem is that at some point, having such massive maps is not worth it, with the amount of interaction, you’ll need a monster of a computer to play WT correctly ( like DCS ).
Plus, you proved the piont by saying that the map is 250x250km, but only 60x100km is occupied.
Of course I’m not saying the map should be 10x10km, but 250x250 is enough for any kind of gameplay.
And I never spawn on Forward Airfield if I want to do air-to-air fighting. Unless long range S-300/SAMP are taken out, which player almost never do (even tho if it is, the team would have a complete high altitude domination, aka more range for missiles, steep terminal engagement for the missiles that almost garentee a kill if the oponement doesn’t turn around or defend)
But it needs to actually be used. Thats the problem.
You could have a 1000x1000km map, but if the AFs, objectives, etc. Are all in a 50x50km area, then its not really a 1000x1000km map. Its 50x50.
Tbh, with NE, I dont think you need to add all that much more, just spread out what they’ve already got, for a map 4x the size. I think they would only need to increase the number of current unit types by 1.5-2x at most.
I would want additional objective types added though.
Nor do, but the gamepaly doesnt really change much.
And I have been in match where the SAMs have been taken and everyone still flies low.
You replied to the wrong post, as everything you said is also my takes, & unrelated to my post.
a better fix for MCM is adding a more realistic proxy fuse and RCS for AA missiles, or the better option they just remove AA missiles ability to intersept fast objects (M3+). overall trying making it a 5-10% chance insted of a 80-90% chance as it is, that would make the tactic a hail marry act of desperation rether than a defensive mech.
Just make the map not a flat chessboard so people can use terrain?
With the DIRCM nerf, they really have to balance ARH SAM in the next update.
Toptier anti-air other than SACLOS or IRIS-T won’t ever be useful.
I think any CAS against USSR and Germany in the same team will be impossible, and facing them means suffering the CAS from F&F heli’s without anything to respond…
Unless someone brings a Elde, but it never happens.
I hope there will be a rework of ground based fox 3 as well.
