multipath should stay, if multipath is to be removed then so should notching for AESA and modern radars as they are mostly immune to notching
I still think multipath should be removed, because it’s unrealistic. It’s about time players learn to notch, which in itself is arcade level easy with how it is in-game currently. It’s extremely unsatisfying to have all your missiles miss because someone who is putting absolutely 0 effort into defending against you can sit at bearing 0 on sea level at altitude 30 with bombs attached to his plane and ignore all of your missiles based on a non-sense mechanic that doesn’t reward skill whatsoever.
deal!
That would be awesome as well
Also EW aircraft to fry hostile radars when?
I absolutely love how escalation mode was 99% inspired (to put it mildly) by nuclear option. But it didnt influence gaijin enough to add ecm, electronic warfare jets and some other cool toys.
I don’t care
More than 8 Fox-3s is pure cancer and makes MCM a “viable” tactic
I want it gone
i will agree as long as the su30’s and f15s (heavier fighters) empty weights are reduced down to EFT/rafale/F16 level (lighter fighters) so it’s fair. deal?
What?
No.
Your example of the Phoenixes (Aim-54’s) isn’t good, since it is one of the very first fox 3 to exist. This in mind, the radar cannot be technologically as good as the radar that you will find on later missiles such as R-77-1, aim-120D-8, AAM-4B, …
Here, I’m trying to give a view of what we could add for ground launched fox 3, since multipathing is very abused in GRB, making some anti air useless. Plus, helicopters are impossible to hit if they have LDRICM, making them absolutely OP. Even tho there is a gigantic blade flash making it one of the easiest target for missiles that can use micro-Doppler.
Keep in mind that next update, Man In The Loop is being added to F&F helicopters, making them even better.
My bad, it took me some days to gather everything and write in my free time → I was maybe almost asleep lol. Thanks. I will correct.
Edit : aunties will stay there forever now.

I’m surprised people are going towards a multipathing rework for Air-to-Air missiles as well. I had in my just a buff in a first time to Ground-to-Air missiles.
because multipathing is one of the reasons why the average player still refuses to learn how to notch
and it’s not fun losing fights because the other dude had better RNG
really fun being in a 2 or 3v1 and you can’t pressure one or more of them effectively because they can just go sub-60m ralt
Meanwhile in nuclear option its basic thing and playable tutorial can be easily found in single player tab. You either notch with ecm, use terrain to break los with radar/missile or explode.
And nobody asks for <60m quasi invulnerability aura.
Real,
for me the thing that can be abused as much as multipathing and is logic is messig with the Doppler of look down mode, it’s good enough so it can be used easily, but not abused.
But I think the most important thing here is SAM ARH, since those are just abused by pop up attacks and helicopters.
By axample the Type 03, with it’s 3.5km uneffective zone, is just useless right now. And if we don’t count the Chu SAM Kai and Tan SAM Kai II, it is pretty much the toptier anti-air for Japan. Plus, I’ve pretty much never hit an Helicopter with it.
So if the topdog of anti air is defended as esily as that, it’s pretty bad looking for Japan.
well, from my experience multipath is something that should just be touched if gaijin makes the maps better suited for it, at this moment some maps trees are for some reason over 10m tall which doesnt make it very usefull, id say it should be something a bit harder to pull but still exist, also while i get the post is mainly about arh sam’s some planes simply cannot deal with any spaa unless its used in this way and messing with multipathing would not only make more modern/higher br stuff more ballanced but actually would mess with lower br’s.
I dont completly disagree with the idea of the post but it also shoulb be limited to SAM’s since in air-to-air its pretty much the only way to play the game with an worse plane when compared to your competition, an example would be any fox1 plane at 12.3 above, if you get an matchup against an dude on any fox3 slinger even if you notch your forced to go defensive for too long without having a single chance to even shoot at the enemy or keep your lock on him.
While some can argue this is not making you better at the game, unless your playing an ballanced match , i doubt trying to show off you know how to notch would actually make you better or even make you have fun which is the main goal of a game after all
The only way to research modifications with two missiles and no chaff is to utilize multipath. So I don’t want the mechanic to be touched.
Ofc the expectation of multipath nerfs is that chaff is stock
Missile RCS should be lowered too to reduce MCM to realistic level before any such change. I can’t still believe they haven’t done it. Or how did they think in the first place that missiles are as visible to a radar as aircraft?
I did vote with the majority. But everyone must think what the consequences are for such a change. It would mess up the game for at least a year and probably more. We all know of certain sloppiness. For example they are not going re-evaluate battle ratings after a change like this. And they could leave some top tier missile not able to counter multipath if they don’t find a source. We know if they’ve decided that they need a a source, then they throw common sense out of the window. The F-104S ASA is a perfect example. It’s RWR doesn’t indicate the direction of the threat in any way even though it’s non updated predecessor does. So they gave it a MiG-19 RWR because it’s a rare unit with little sources available. [Common sense would’ve said: “Let’s give it the same directional capability as it’s predecessor and we can update it later if sources become available.”] Common sense for for a modern ARH missile would say: “No one would field a missile not resistant to multipathing when their competitors have had that capability for decades. Let’s make it resistant to multipathing, but we can remove that capability later if sources proving that surface.”
Actually I would’ve voted: Make all modern ARH’s fielded after the AMRAAM resistant to multipathing and any other missiles resistant to multipath if sources so indicate.
I personally find the opposite. 90% of people are hugging the deck and matches boring because everyone is doing the same. Especially in NE
It will only mess up GRB for a long time, as for Air RB/NE/SIM i don’t think it will mess up gameplay for that long
