worth noting this is a university document for students and shouldn’t be taken as absolute fact, for example it lists the R-27 as 30g despite better primary sources stating 35g not saying to completely disregard this document just to take it with some salt
These ballpark figures give us a good idea of how they should perform though. Target overload is too deceptive regarding performance because it factors altitude, speed, etc into the equation and maximum overload doesn’t consider the missiles’ energy state but gives us better relative performance comparison.
Well, first of all, here the range is indicated on the R-33C. R-37M is of a different design. And it can also hit highly maneuverable targets. I assume an overload of at least 30.
Moreover, the R-33, the early versions differ from the later ones
In video rosoboroneksport, about RVV BD ( export R-37M ) RVV BD have max target overload up to 8. Own r-37 overload ≈ 30-35G
To shoot down an 8G target, the missile must have at least 3 times better maneuverability than the target.
However, this video does not mention anything about the missile’s maneuverability.
Of course, it is clear that the R-37 has improved maneuverability over the R-33, as the R-33 mentions that it can be shot down if the target has a maximum maneuverability of 5g, while the R-37 can be shot down if the target has a maneuverability of 8g.
Of course, if we get a better source than this, we have to admit it, but we don’t have a better source than this: R-37 can’t be any less maneuverable than R-33, so we have to estimate this as a “minimum”.
It would be nice to have some hard evidence of this, because personally I would love to see the MiG-31’s R-33/37 and the F-14’s AIM-54 in the game, as I think they would be good rivals.
The original R-33 has a range of 120km.R-33S With 160 km, they even differ in appearance
Under what conditions are those launch ranges? The AIM-54 for example can technically do 231km depending on launch and target conditions.
the initial speed is estimated at 600-650 m/s. Most likely, they, like the P-27, were severely limited by battery life
I was talking about maneuverability.
yes, the maneuverability between them is also different. How much I won’t say. There are mentions that the late P-33s are already capable of hitting targets with 8G
btw Sener also makes the control section for the Meteor
I was secretly hoping gajin consider improve maneuverability of AIM-54C Phoenix increase maximum G-overload higher 17G at least this quarter
R-77, R-77-1, R-77M, AIM-120A/AIM-120B, AIM-120C-3, AIM-120C-4, AIM-120C-5/AIM-120C-6, AIM-120C-7, AIM-120D, PL-12, PL-12A, SD-10 and SD-10A very good maneuverability
Derby, I-Derby, I-Derby ER, MICA EM & MICA NG great maneuvering
unless they decided to finally simulate the dual plane i doubt that they will actually buff it
Dual plane is already in the game. Any missile shown to always maneuver in dual plane gets the dual plan overload. AIM-54 has been reported and should be fixed when other FOX-3s appear.
I added a new turkish missile: the Gökdoğan.
Unfortunatly since it’s very new (only started production this year) there’s really not a lot of information on it.
If you got any sources giving more characteristics then please respond to this comment so i can upgrade my thread on the only turkish FOX 3 missile!
*Only asking for OPEN SOURCE information :)
ASRAAM’s range is not 16kn
When ground launched from a truck without any initial speed.
Ahhh right
