Modern ARH (FOX 3) Missile - History, Performance & Discussion

The SD-10 may use the R-77 seeker, while the SD-10A and PL-12 use their own indigenous seekers. At least I think the SD-10 and SD-10A are not the same missile

Yes, all modern AIM-120 up to AIM-120C-7 has been used.

Do you want that i add spoiler?

  • For every family of missile (Ie AIM-54 / AIM-120 …)
  • For ever missile (AIM-54A/AIM-54B …)
  • For every country (USA/RUSSIA …)
  • No Spoiler are needed

would be nice if you could add a disclaimer to the missiles that were never produced

The Range on the IRIS T is more i can guarantee

How can you guarantee it

Sekret Dokuments or it’s not true (alt + 9)

For legal reasons this is a joke

Discussion using sources not permitted is probably not a good idea on the public forum then

According to this public source, it does not.

This is a primary source from the maker of the missile.

Source is from @Faster_Boiiiii

The 10km figure is logic considering the 16km range on the ASRAAM, the 15km range on the 9X_Block2 and the Python 5 and the 18km for the MICA IR.
The IRIS-T is really not optimised for long range shot.

the 10km range is for the SLS. Yes it is the same missile as the air launched one but its launched from 0 speed and 0 altitude
SLS, SLM, SLX and HYDEF are surface launched only(for now)
dont see how the iris-t is relevant here though

R-27EA was produced in extremely limited numbers.

R-27EA was not produced at all

If you have proof that would be appreciated, but it seems there was some limited testing in the mid-80s according to some russian websites. The program was set aside in favor of the RVV-AE (R-77) program.

whether they were tested or not is one thing but being produced and put into service is a whole other thing but the project died in the turn of the 1990s

Yeah

Technically all sorts of missiles were ‘produced’ but that doesn’t mean they were ever functional or usable.

its supposed to have an integrated booster as well which, after burning, leaves the ram combustor part empty to do ramjet things

nah not just supposed to. it has it.
you can tell that it has one from launch pictures where it has a big exhaust flame reminiscent of an AMRAAM or any other solid rocket booster type exhaust flame. Additionally there is a video from MBDA showing the meteor in flight(although in what looks like IR) and its exhaust flame and plume is much smaller.
Why? well the missile needs to get to a certain speed for the ramjet to turn on and work properly. as most launches aren’t going to be at mach 2, you’ll need a booster.
as it doesnt have anything to jettison, it has to be integrated in the missile

oh yea, and mbda literally says

Following the boost phasethe missile successfully transitioned to its ramjet operationand accelerated to its operational speed.

There is also R-27EA as an early ARH missile for Russian aircraft
