History
The Sd. Kfz. 251/9 was developed in 1942. It was made to be a a supporting vehicle for motorised infantry. In June 1942 Two prototypes were sent out to the eastern front. Following the 2 prototypes an order for 150 vehicles was made in July 1942 and main production started in October or November of 1942.
This photo below is of a well camouflaged Sd. Kfz. 251/9 Ausf. C. This photo comes from September 1942 So it is most probably one of the prototypes.

In terms of Armament the Sd. Kfz. 251/9 was armed with a 7.5 cm K 37 L/24 that would greatly help support any infantry it was tasked to assist. This weapon was made more available after the Panzerkampfwagen IV and Sturmgeschütz III were rearmed with more effective weapons such as the 75 mm KwK40 L43 cannon and the 75 mm StuK40 L43 cannon. The photos below are most likely photos of early models of the Ausf. D which had the same gun positioning as the Ausf. C.

An improved version of the Sd. Kfz. 251/9 started being produced in December 1943. The gun carriage of the weapon would now be designated as the 7,5 cm K 51 (Sf.) and was fitted onto the upper hull to give the vehicle a much simpler construction and a much larger aiming range than the older gun carriage. This is the model we currently have in game. A coaxial machine gun, which could also be used to fire at air and sideward targets, was available, too, however this is not modeled in War Thunder.

I made this a suggestion back in June (on my Birthday) and it hasn’t been excepted yet, so I’m gonna put it here so the community can at least see it.
