Mitsubishi F-15J

sorry forgot to add “fictional”, so what, its still a prototype, where are the documents about its IRST then

In the Russian language and in PDF form.
Same for the Kikka’s 30mms but in the Japanese language and in PDF form.

IRST also doesn’t tangibly improve combat effectiveness in War Thunder that would impact BR due to the nature of War Thunder spawning and objective knowledge.

fair enough but still, if there are documents about the F15J then what’s the problem here?

My only criticism was in relation to comparing unfinished prototypes to service vehicles, nothing more.

If you want my take on IRST pod for F-15J:

alright, discussion closed

If you want a F-15J with IRST there also is a rest variant where it was mounted (but this is only on one prototype)

I’ve a Suggestion for it pending. Overall capability wise, this specific F-15J(M) (its a Type I with IRST) is inbetween F-15J and F-15J(M) (Type II) we’ve in-game

That means ARH capability but no HMD?

Yep. Also no AAM-5 if we want to keep it at reasonable BR in future. It was already technically possible to carry and use it, but only became operational with MTDP Type II and some Pre-MSIP F-15J.

Does anyone know when the the first JSI is supposed to be finished? I could only find that the JSI program is supposed to finish by 2030, but not when they expect first delivery.

Assuming deliveries of the first EPAWSS for prototyping went according to the original plan, late this year, if not we’ll probably see them mid next year, after the full delivery of materials for their conversions should start.

id imagine it would be easier if the US program for EPAWSS on F-15C got farther.

What should we expect from F-15J JSI? 8 AAM-4? New engines? IRST?

Basically just AESA radar and EPAWSS

As off now we expect; EPAWSS, JASSM(-ER), newer AIM-120s (maybe even D-3) and AESA Radar iirc - What else could be coming is either still up in air or speculation, though I hope it also gets the extra underwing pylons for AMRAAMs.

I wish the original engines are on their last legs and the F-15Js get upgraded engines (-229s), though I’m sure they still have plenty of life left, not to mention I’m not even sure if the -229s are drop-in replacements.

Can’t put -229’s on air superiority eagles

What’s the reason? Small air intakes? Too heavy?
