No information on using Fox-1 and Fox-3 missiles by air bots?

Hi, the wiki makes it sound like it’s possible to host multiplayer mission files from a “file hosting service” instead of WT Live, has anyone ever been able to do it? I tried a couple sites with both direct link, adding &dl=1 to url etc and haven’t been able to do it yet, the game simply rejects the url with “Mission download failed”. I have to create a bunch of different specialized missions for recording cinematics and I don’t really want to spam WT live with them.

@Tafzeel I had the same problem but with planes when I wanted to replace the old afterburners for AI planes a while ago and I did find a solution, I assume it will work for tanks as well. the idea is the following: create a custom unit that is based on the unit you want the custom skin for, then override the default_skin parameter. This bypasses the problem which is that the skin value in the object properties of the unit simply doesn’t carry over to replays.

Check the chapter called “Applying custom skins to existing units” and do as it says there but replace skin with default_skin in the blk, this way you just change the unit in the mission editor to your new one which has the skin you want!

I don’t think it’s possible unfortunately, a workaround I use is to use the player vehicle, place it somewhere off screen and drive in the same direction/speed as the AI with cruise control. This will achieve the same effect assuming the unit’s movement match each other.

You can also just post the file in discord. Copy and paste the file link onto the WT mission by URL. If the file link is too long you can put the link in a url shortener or delete the “https://”

@KatukovM @ReikiKage Thank you both! I think that discord will be more convenient for me, we’ll see. I did actually try discord before asking here and it didn’t work but tried again just now and removing “https://” from the url did the trick! Thanks again o7

That’s odd. I use “https” all the time and it works fine.
For example, here is the mission.
You can insert the link with “https” while creating “mission by URL”

I Used Custom Units to Apply the skins. But for some reason. Only Tanks Skins dont show up in Replays.
For the Second Question. I already am recording by going the the same direction as AI units with same speed.

How to use squad that is made by “MakeSquadFromUnits” action?

Also, wiki page about triggers seems to be broken.

Ok, this is really weird.
I make squad out of units and select “IsAlive” in object_type section.

Then I am trying to activate trigger once this squad is destroyed.
I use condition UnitWhenStatus and use “isKilled”

But this condition does not work!
Once I remove object_type section while making squad, everything works.

Why there is a problem with object_type section? I need to use this option for the mission.

Im not 100% on this but why use the trigger to make a squad? Why not make it a squad through object properties and making it a squad through that? Ive done what you’re trying to do many times without fail by this method. What the squad trigger is thinking is once every object is alive it then makes the squad. But if one dies then the squad is removed.

Question: how to create a user mission (not a copy URL) that can invite team members to play together?
Like Cooperative mode available single mission
Because we want to play mod vehicles together in the team

Hmmm, it does not work for me.
I have solved it by creating 2 squads, containing the same units. First squad does not have object_type section. The second squad has (IsAlive option).

First squad is used to check if it was killed to active one trigger.
Second squad is used to make it active (another trigger), so only those units that survived become active.

To be specific. You need to destroy planes squad standing on the ground. Time is limited.
If you fail, those planes that survived your attack will take off and hunt for you.
The are 11 planes, so I used squad to minimize number of triggers.

Single missions are not designed for this.

At the moment only missions by URL are suitable to play as a team.

Is there any other way to play mod with multiple people?

To my knowledge, you cannot play any type of single missions with multiple people.

Only missions by URL work in this manner.

P.S. Never noticed those “Invite to squad” button and “Cooperative mode is available” text, lol.

Yea, nah, you can.

The singleplayer me262 mission is where I used to take people to play jets once I unlocked it once upon a time.

So they nuked the triggers and other useful pages on the war thunder wiki… they are all gone now? I had to use the wayback machine to access it… so annoying.
