I am not sure if this is a game-wide problem or i am doing something wrong here but especially with Eurofighter fgr.4, even when i get a proper radar lock, sometimes the missiles, both fox.2 and fox.3, do not lock on the target. I don’t mean that i don’t get a proper lock with 2 red circles, i mean the fire secondary weapons or the activate missiles buttons do not even work. I tried switching secondary weapons, unselecting the secondary weapons and selecting again etc. Is this a common bug or am i missing something? Why is this not being fixed?
And this happens in almost every single game!
Here is the clip of what happens and you cannot hear maybe (my mic happened to be on low voice) but i am slamming the fire missile buttons!
Not a bug, it’s an annoying feature added a while back to help with less modern radars losing lock to basically “step down” radar modes as a last resort before losing the lock.
In modern radarsets however especially with those aircraft with IRST (like your variant of the Eurofighter), I would like to think it’s a bug that once it goes through most radar modes available it auto switches to IRST. Not ideal, but that’s the way it is.
I’ve had this issue so many times and it’s caused me to die so many times as well because I would quite literally be fighting to switch from TRK IR to TRK PD but it won’t let me. Or, and this one’s my least favourite, having obtained a HMD-assisted lock, ready to fire a missile and OH- wait nevermind, it’s tracking with IRST and I cannot launch a radar-guided missile in TRK IR mode.
Gaijin could at the very least give us the option of turning this auto radar mode switch on/off like with turning laser designator auto on/off after weapon drop etc.
How do we make them hear us? Because this is ridiculous. A simple bug that can/should be fixed. Gaijin is too much focused on quantity of aircraft and game modes more than the quality of game play.
This bug has killed me so many times that I stopped playing for a month and a half hoping it’d get fixed between then. At this point, it’s either incompetent devs or willfull ignorance. Either way it makes the devs who work on these game breaking bugs look REALLY bad. But, that’s just my opinion
