Mirage IIIS C.70: Alpine Canard Delta

Just a gun sight, no HUD. Have to check about gun lead, but there is at least an A/G and an A/A mode (took image of a running sight recently at anniversary of Mirage Club, but couldn’t delve into it more as my little one accidently cut his fingers on the sharp edges of an exhibited AIM-9 rolleron… facepalm)

A/G sight.

A/A sight.

You’re correct re. missile designations. Swiss Mirages flew with AIM-9B, E, P-3, P-4 and finally P-5:

LB-66 NORAS (Nord AS.30) in the front, LL 64 FALCO (AIM-26 Falcon / HM-55S) in the back.

And here the club’s IIIS (we also have a semi-operational IIIRS) with two FALCO and two SIWA:

Interesting, so the AIM-9P-5 should actually have a reduced smoke motor? And the P-4 wasn’t actually used by the SAF? (or only the training variants at least)

AFAIK the P-4 was only purchased because the P-5 were not ready yet.

So for training rounds (inert motor, but working seeker) the P-4 was used, as the IRCCM and smokeless motor of the P-5 would only be relevant after the launch, so for training the P-4 offered everything that was needed (all aspect).

A miniscule disappoint, but honestly understandable (I had the very stupid hope that the Swiss somehow gave it a full HUDWAC lmao)
I would still fly the everliving crap out of this thing if it got added

Namely thanks to this video:

How many falcons could it carry, and its overall a2a missile capacity. At the least, i hope it could carry 2 aim-9s and 2 aim-26s…

Yes, 2x AIM-9 on the outer wing pylons plus two Falcons under the fuselage.

All that plus a decent RWR, pretty alright engine, and CMs makes it seem like this would be quite fun to fly in Air RB…

Yeah, I just fear with the current BR’s it would come to maybe 11.3, 11.7, which would be painful for it, considering the IIIC is at 10.3 and the IIIE at 11.0 (Sim), where both are outclassed quite severely already…

In RB MiG-21MF and SMT now are 10.3 while Mirage IIIE is 10.7.
They forgot about Mirage III/V if you ask me.

IMO 11.3 or 11.0 would be good if it just the AIM-26Bs and the AIM-9P-4s.

If gaijin wants to give it P-5s, then itd have to be 11.7 minimum.

Well, it should get P-5, as the P-4 was only used as training missile without motor in Switzerland (IRCCM and smokeless not an issue for training)…

It’d be super cool if it got P-5s but you never know what shenanigans gaijin will pull

ONLY if the same update gives the Mirage IIIEX/NG would I accept this going to Germany, if not, then +1 for France

You mean “would pull”, because afaik there has been zero indication that a Mirage IIIS is in the works or is even planed… = /

No. F-5FCU sits at 11.3 with two Python 3 and two AIM-9P4.

Mirage III with 2 AIM-9P5 should be 11.0 at most.
