Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

So IRL you can launch the missile on a datalink position, so technically you can fire it at its maximum range from the front or backwards. On the other hand, in game since the datalink is not modeled you will be able to fire it at the max IR lock range (I hope that a radar lock would allow you to fire it within the radar range of the Antelope)

i’ll add just something : some exports twin seaters Mirage 2000-5 can carry the MICA in the same way the single seater does.

Here is a greek Mirage 2000-5BG

and here a Taiwanese Mirage 2000-5DI

Also, even with 2 unflarable missiles i don’t think it would be 14.0… just because i think everyone will get their counterparts ( Aim 9X per example ) at the same time. When it will get 2 MICA IR, the Rafale will have 8 of them, so when the 2000D-RMV will go up, i’m expecting it to go between 13.0 and 13.3, not more.

For the two-seater versions equipped with six Micas, they are all variants of the Mirage 2000B (If I’m not mistaken, these are the 2000Bs that have been improved and not new aircraft based on the 5F standard.) or the Mirage 2000-5F Mk2, which are an improvement of the 2000-5F. France has a few two-seater Mirage 2000s that can carry Mica EMs.

Regarding the equivalence of modern IR missiles, the problem with the Mica is that it has no real equivalent. It may not be the best in terms of instantaneous turning or gimbal limitation, but its range makes it a unique weapon (though in-game it will probably be so nerfed that it won’t necessarily stand out).

Sooo guys quick question.
Do you think it is possible for the M2K to accelerate at supersonic speeds and then it can keep said speed when turning of post combustion ?

do you mean supercruise?

Essentially yes.

Not really super cruise per say, as it would not be able to accelerate at supersonic speed with dry thrust alone, but in spirit that’s what I mean.

Fun fact, you can super cruise in a Mirage 2000, it just takes a lot of time, having taken off with full fuel and having climbed with a bank of about 10 degrees to 5600 meters, I was able to reach mach 1. On the other hand, the plane will not go faster than Mach 1.1 in this configuration (And this is regardless of altitude, at 8000 meters the plane is capped at Mach 1.05)

fun fact 2: you can supercruise in the mirage f1 at relatively low alt at about 8 mins of fuel with a full a2a loadout

U can just about do it with every 2k kph plane in game. Alt and loadout dependent sure but still.

am having real bad time flying the sc4… took a long break and i just cant make it work, the high speed compression, weird radar and quirky flight model makes me feel frustratred, you just cannot go fast in this thing

You can go fast with it, you just have to gain altitude. It’s a plane that really comes into its own above 3,000 or even 4,000 meters. Not that it’s a easy plane to play obviously, but to say it’s not fast is a bit of an exaggeration

thats not what i saying, what i mean is you cant notch or roll missiles if you are too fast and you turn way too wide, its just a pain in butt to fly this thing

Personally, when flying it at altitude, it is largely capable of notching missiles (obviously it is not a Rafale or a Eurofighter so you do not turn on the spot). Using it too low and at too high a speed makes it really uncomfortable because as you say it cannot turn in these conditions but at altitude and with a speed that you regulate around mach 1 it is much better. Typically between 3k and 5k meters of altitude with the PC mini the plane is really good.

i think i just force this plane to play in ways it cant, i think i need to watch vids

Is the mirage 4k supposed to have an all aspect radar or is it just stuck with this horrendous pdv radar
