Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

So IRL you can launch the missile on a datalink position, so technically you can fire it at its maximum range from the front or backwards. On the other hand, in game since the datalink is not modeled you will be able to fire it at the max IR lock range (I hope that a radar lock would allow you to fire it within the radar range of the Antelope)

i’ll add just something : some exports twin seaters Mirage 2000-5 can carry the MICA in the same way the single seater does.

Here is a greek Mirage 2000-5BG

and here a Taiwanese Mirage 2000-5DI

Also, even with 2 unflarable missiles i don’t think it would be 14.0… just because i think everyone will get their counterparts ( Aim 9X per example ) at the same time. When it will get 2 MICA IR, the Rafale will have 8 of them, so when the 2000D-RMV will go up, i’m expecting it to go between 13.0 and 13.3, not more.

For the two-seater versions equipped with six Micas, they are all variants of the Mirage 2000B (If I’m not mistaken, these are the 2000Bs that have been improved and not new aircraft based on the 5F standard.) or the Mirage 2000-5F Mk2, which are an improvement of the 2000-5F. France has a few two-seater Mirage 2000s that can carry Mica EMs.

Regarding the equivalence of modern IR missiles, the problem with the Mica is that it has no real equivalent. It may not be the best in terms of instantaneous turning or gimbal limitation, but its range makes it a unique weapon (though in-game it will probably be so nerfed that it won’t necessarily stand out).
