Mirage 2000 Thread : Variants, performance, characteristics and sources

Except they didn’t. it is bad, all delta wing aircrafts have this issue, including MiG-21s and JA37, they all have issues of high drag at high AoA.

I really like the MICA so far, although the BVR is … I mean I gave up doing any BVR after being failed by R77s so they do fit my style of playing but yeah, not ideal, would really like them to introduce MICA-IR soon as well as MICA-M.

they made a FM change some updates ago, which refrainned Mirage2000 to take any AoA, turning it into a flying brick at high speeds (over 700km/h) basically.

if you make a test, there is great chances that MiG-21’s will pull more AoA than Mirage 2000 past that speed.

MICA-IR is doomed to wait up for missiles as capable as it is,… IR wise, there is none today (60km range and IRCCM 50G ability + LOAL Datalink pursuit)

MICA-EM lacks 37.5% max range(IRL: 80km - in-game: 50km) in game files, been proved mutliple times, by multiple reports, but nothing is actionned because the MICA-EM is “too good at the moment”

R-77 have currently no problem Range Wise (80km in game // earliest R-77 only reached 70km IRL)

the problem came from guidance systems being oversimplified.

and even if Gaijin adds Rafale F.4 - MICA-NG(IR or EM) would not be implemented per balance, i even doubt Meteor will ever be implemented on the F.3R

I mean regarding delta wing I can only say it is relatively accurate, aligns with what I have seen as well as what generally applies delta wings. Also it is to do with the control surfaces, which are not independent like on MiG21. With MICA that is all the ARHs, PL12 has 100km and is down to 80, generally similar, everything is nerfed, same with MICA.

You should’ve tried Mirage 2000 before the Rafale come out. With Rafale come out, Mirage 2000 is simply outdated due to how slow it is against most aircraft at its BR.

Even before Seek and Destroy was released, Mirage 2000 actually flies like J-10 that easily bleed speed and yet still maintain speed that can rip its wing off.

Now it’s just slower F-16 with shittier rollrate. Really, my greatest caveat in the second FM of Mirage 2000 was its rollrate was killed for the sake of better energy retention at high speed.

I don’t want to further this off topic, but I’m interested to see which country thay operates the F-5C with CM dispenser, can you tell me?

Nord F-5s had the ALE-40s mounted.

Late for this discussion, but when the MICA IR is added it probably should be at least given to the RMV; since it both operates it and differentiates it from the R1. Rather than it keeping the Magics only, and being debatably worse than the R1 at a higher br.

This has been my experience with this bird as well, I keep it slow and just sort of bait people into taking fox 3 shots I know I can notch, while closing the gap on them so I can shove a MICA into their cockpit.

I would think they will make it the same across the board UK Tornados should receive ASRAAM when it’s added and Germany Tornados should have IRIS-T

Nobody has NCTR as far as I am aware, so probably added to list of suggestions.

Correct, I figured it’s time for the French jets to join the long line of American/British planes that had been reported for missing NCTR. More aircrafts being added to the list of NCTR-capable hopefully adds pressure to developers to consider adding it.

IDK cause how far does this go, it will nearly be broken as u will have just a map with everyone on it in sim. Which is inherently not realistic at all, since NCTR is very inconsistent especially with modern jets utilising stealth coating.

They already have reconnaissance aircraft, they need to add AWACS for sim top tier

That’s a different aspect I would think, this can also be a bug report on its own once/if NCTR comes, and people provide proof of stealth-coating, serrations, curved intakes on aircrafts providing difficulty of obtaining identification

You are tweaking

When I originally got the CS4 I was having a great time and ground my way through all the vehicle mods pretty quickly. Recently I’ve been having a really tough time locking/maintaining lock on anything outside of high targets that are flying towards me and it’s getting me killed constantly.

Is anyone else having issues with the radar? Anyone have any tips? I’m using PDV HDN. I don’t really like TWS due to the radar slewing itself all over the shop.

PDV HDN does require a relatively high approach rate in game to work well, if against high targets maybe use other search or TWS (even if u hate it, it works) to lock, and when within 4 km with approach rate I would rather use Magic 2s. Also it won’t work very well with low targets using SARH, with most radar guided missiles it works poorly.
The radar generally is usable, but not the best, I’ve had limited experience with it, but I just don’t like how it worked. Magic 2 is the spell for me more often than not.

Thanks for your input!

I’ll give TWS another try, I’m just a little apprehensive about adding yet more keybinds when I’ve already pretty much hit my limit.

Yes I agree that Magic 2’s are amazing.

TWS or just normal PD HDN instead of PDV has always been far more consistent to me. There’s some scenarios it struggles with since within 5km the radar is near worthless because of the dead zone, but I just always make sure to have all of my radar functions and setting switches bound to change them on the fly for the situation. Or disable them entirely, such as TWS slaving Magic locks to the wrong target.
