Gaijin cant model yet the how TWS guides multiple targets and keeps them all in TWS mode even though those multiple targets could be at different altitudes.
How is that possible without difficulties? The radar would need to have electronic scanning to provide sufficient quality track at different altitudes. The AWG-9 already had trouble maintaining TWS lock on maneuvering targets. The radar simply just doesn’t scan fast enough to sufficiently guide against multiple maneuvering targets at different altitudes let alone just at one altitude.
The AWG-9 struggled heavily to provide TWS track against maneuvering targets irl, or against multiple targets spread far out. One single defensive target is hard enough without SARH mode hard lock.

problem is, if you are trying to guide 3 phoenixes to 3 targets, and those 3 targets aren’t “aligned” the dish will necessarily lose the track on one of the three. Scanning pattern is still a good old “left-right-left-right and repeat”.
PESA and AESA can probably manage that way better

Btw have you guys had issues with the 530D’s? @DirectSupport @WreckingAres283
Me and my friend regularly do night battle BVR fights and the 530D’s almost never tracked. they just kept going in a straight line wherever I aimed them, and occasionally they got a track right before they passed my friend (way too late). I never lost lock and I launched them at 30-60km, at close range they track but not always
I haven’t played the M2K in a while - Last time I played it the S.530D went for Chaff like nothing else or has been too easy to notch.
Yes, I know what the problem is but I’m waiting on a 530D document to be emailed to me, which won’t happen for another month so it’ll be broken a bit until then. It usually tracks in under 20km though.

Same thing happened to me today while i was playing with Mirage4k.
Launched to F-16 that was flying at med alt and my missile decided to become Moon project, Honestly Super530D’s behaves really weird sometimes.
