As some are aware, the MIM72E and MIM72G used to have smokeless motors. However, several months ago, they where removed.
Many of us believe this to be a bug but I am starting to think that it is not. During the bug fix patch with the br changes, Smin1080p_WT stated that it was currently being handled as a suggestion. This got me curious to look into the files.
Disclaimer: I do not normally do this so I could be looking at the wrong stuff but it appears to track. Please correct me if I am wrong.
First, I looked at regular missiles such as the AIM9G and AIM9J which have normal smoke trails.

Next, I looked at a missiles that are known for having a large smoke trail, the FIM92E and MIM72C

I then decided to look are two missiles that currently have smokeless motors, MIM146 and AIM9M

Finally, I looked at the MIM72E and G

From what I saw, this does not appear to be a bug and is something that the devs did on purpose for whatever reason.
He basically said the devs “thought” they are smokeless. And then “info” came up and challenged the smokeless claim. They then realized they can just do whatever they want for the sake of balance and decided to make the motors produce smoke. And now they are just ignoring the 8 month old bug report for this poor poor machine
They do this. Bug reports have existed for years or months and never been solved. EG, the F-5T is an upgraded F-5E FCU, capable of carrying 4 Python 3s and has HMS. But they removed the underwing pylons completely, restricting it to 2 Python 3s and HMS. It was reported on Dev Server, but has been accepted for 2 maybe 3 months. This is because they want a F-5E equivalent in the Tech Tree. Same w/ RCV (P) and ICV (P)
F-16A OCU has AIM-120s because they wanted a 13.7 Jet for Japan, and yet the AIM-120s could never be mounted or used by the Thai jet due to its radar. They pick and choose everything. Type 93 could have better missiles (but doesn’t), same w/ Type 81 (C).
