yea 56CMs

SMT has larger dispensers fitted. I have looked at many photos but the only dispensers I could see fielded for the 29K in both Russian and Indian service are the 16-count dispensers. Theoretically it could be compatible with the big ones that the SMT has.

On the UPG suggestion, there was mention of Bahart Countmeasure pods under the wings, is it possible for the 9.41 to have recieved them as well?

I’m not really sure. It would require dedicated wiring, so theoretically it is possible but it can’t just be “duct taped” to the plane without any sort of modification. I have not seen any mention of additional countermeasures being considered for the MiG-29K besides in its very early conceptual stage which would have been when it was based off the Soviet-era MiG-29M. The original MiG-29M had internal countermeasures dispensers which doubled the count compared to the normal MiG-29’s, however these aren’t present on the later MiG-29M and MiG-29K.

How are the astras compared to the r771

astra mk2/mk3 is better than r77-1 but they are not being produced as far as i know.

astra mk1 :- 40g pull, atleast 8 second burn time, 110km max range.

astra mk2 :- ??? pull, AESA seeker, dual pulse, ??? burn time, range :- estimated between 130-180 km, currently in testing phase

astra mk3 :- ??? pull, AESA seeker, ramjet, ??? burntime, range :- estimated to be 300+ km, currently in testing phase

they also operate the Mig-29UPG which uses the same radar , they only revealed issues with the navy ? so ig its mostly due to hard carrier landings.

Zhuks are known to be quite unreliable ngl
Zhuk AE in mig35 trials was borderline unusable

Probably why they still have the n010m in there

Some footage of the 9-41 released yesterday, looks like the CM are double pop, or is this something that can be switched?

There probably aren’t any real sources that would tell you besides an operating manual. I’d like to assume that they can be used single-fire but that’s just an assumption.

Interesting. I wonder if they’ll attempt to replace it with indigenous radaror not. Good thing time between failures has no game impact, otherwise it would be looking pretty bleak…

Man I’d hope it can be single fire since it’s only got 32cm total lol

What a great version! I support this addition for both the Russian and Indian tech trees! It would be cool to have both versions, like a MiG-29K for the Russians and a MiG-29KUB for the Indians in the British tech tree.
