I will ask my friend when hes available for more info on it
would be nice to clarify the topic
I like how all of you mention the great price and not the fact that half of them were not accepted into service due to high wear lol.
It seems you didn’t read the history section nor take a peruse through the gallery!
It’s a shame Germany chose the F-4F instead of MiG-29G to be upgraded to mount the AIM-120.
A MiG-29G with AIM-120 would’ve been a beautiful sight.
well, the F-4F was upgraded before the MiG-29 became available, and it was naturally much easier to incorporate AMRAAMs on a western fighter that already had many of the avionics the missiles were designed to interface with
I did. I have a book on them in fact. All MiG-29G that were bought from Germany had high wing structural fatigue and were sent to WZL for reassembly and wing strengthening.
To anyone reading don’t think of this as something controversial but rather a normal procedure that was noted due to the rather not so long service in the Luftwaffe.
I have never seen AM or A(M) used in official sources. Always just MiG-29 or MiG-29A, even in the upgrade proposals I never saw anything for MiG-29M or AM.
First time hearing about this as well. Apparently it’s a DCS thing. I just view them by the Russian designations and the years those planes were modified in.
yeah its a dcs mod that makes the cockpit look like the 2014 version of the cockpit. the proper designation is what you said
