Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

ty man will definitely take a look

I agree with this point but tech-wise nothing will be game-breaking, just new styles of gameplay.

true, ppl always said that the missiles would kill the game and here we are with a plane carrying 6 27ERs lmao

They’ll get used to this one as well, it’s not an exception lol

It’s always the same cycle. New tech/balance ceiling tested → community is outraged and starts complaining → Gaijin releases said update → everyone gets used to it and even starts to enjoy it

I have no experience on selecting good/accurate sources and explaining technical terms but i can try to do something about it, i can research some info, send to you and then you can check if it’s relevant or not :)

that part would be easy to explain:

-the 9.15 could serve to fill the gap between the 9.13 and the SMT;
-Russia is lacking a light mig29 with the capability of carrying archers and many mig enthusiasts will be looking for it.

I’m confident that if we manage to get a considerable amount of ppl to become aware of the suggestion gaijin will approve the plane, after all the effort that it would take to add this vehicle wouldn’t be much considering that they’ll most likely just copy and paste the current mig 9.12 FM and do some adjustments, change some values and that’s it. I’ll share with all my buddies if we make the suggestion

Also we could state that the 9.15 would be a better analogue to the f16C than the SMT is

The only problem I have with it is that it’s only a prototype, so it feels a little off. If the USSR broke up later it would have been introduced.

Yes but imho we are already at a point where the way air RB works has reached a limit already if missiles were implemented correctly. If ground multipath gets more realistic (and not a 100m get out of jail card) with the current 16v16 clusterfucks and the weird spotting system the game would already be close to turning into almost instant death 2 min after take off considering how most war thunder players play.

And in general the problem game breaking wise Is not so much with modern technology but on how the different nations would balance if we go beyond the early 2000s.
No one knows how the different modern aircraft fare against each other, but F-22s would probably just murder everything else.

In general though the fact that models would be mostly fantasy is the bigger problem

I think it wouldn’t be so bad if they had the enduring confrontation mode sim uses but for air RB with better objectives and stuff. It could also be a shorter 45 minute match instead of 3 hours.

Allow people to re-spawn and give people 0 points for killing enemies within the same square as their airfield unless they’ve been hovering there for >2 minutes… rules like this to fix spawn camping and other issues.

Well I seemed to remember that the 156 prototype would have been the final aircraft and that they had started making the serial production line to produce it unlike, for example, the yak141 whose prototype was still not the production version.

Still imho with a suggestion they would at least think about it, as it is also an iconic plane considering the OVT (which Is quite famous) is the 156 with thrust vectoring added.

This is actually a great idea also for props

I read some crazy leaks from olivia showing that patriots and s300s are coming soon for AI, maybe they’re planning something new for air modes

Imho the spotting system would also need a deep rework. You just can’t have a situation where you don’t spot people 3km away if IRIS-T, AiM9x and others are around.

Yeah that’s a problem but i still have some hope, even more considering that the mirage 4k shared a similar issue

So, we wait for the update to get released and then wait ~1 week to make the suggestion?

The fun thing about it would be that it is better than even the MiG-29As flight performance wise. It has more thrust (probably a lot more at low speed since there is not any upper intake system fucking around creating let’s say… ambiguous situations about installed thrust), is only 400kg heavier than the 9-13, I’m pretty sure it is aerodynamically unstable since it has fly by wire (this would give it better sustained turn especially at higher AoAs, as elevators need to do far less force), combined with more AoA (at least 30 degrees).

we could make it a bit before that since they usually take some time to be approved… in general if it gets here after the update is better since people won’t be as focused on the new stuff

alright, we already have the info about the plane or we’ll need to scavenge a bit on the internet?

The series 2 +10kgf was removed.

9-15 has Rd-33K, they have 8800kgf bench afterburner thrust (9400kgf in emergency/take off mode), compared to 8300 in the normal rd33.

Considering the same efficiency we have in game (it is probably higher than that since it has larger intakes without the whole upper intakes ordeal) we would get 821kgf more of thrust.
