@I_Phobos_I you are correct! We must monitor these aircraft upon release to make sure those specific technologies are applied correctly and not just visually.
Which reminds me… Leading edge extensions…
You mean this proof you messaged me below?
My apologies, your interpretation is a 100% incorrect. FALSE.
Once again you have demonstrated a highly questionable reading comprehension and provided further evidence that you have no business ever touching the flight models of War Thunder. A highly complex, specialized hobby to take on and I hope the mods take note of it. @_David_Bowie @Metrallaroja @Gunjob
A leading edge extension is not a leading edge flap/slat.
Please allow me to educate you @MiG_23M on the differences of each technology and their uses.
Leading-edge droop flap
The leading-edge droop flap is a device on the leading edge of aircraft wings designed to improve airflow at high angles of attack. The droop flap is similar to the leading-edge slat and the Krueger flap, but with the difference that the entire leading-edge section rotates downwards, whereas the slat and Krueger flap are panels which move away from the wing leading edge when it is deployed.
They improve airflow over the wing in high angles of attack.
Droop flaps function with other high-lift devices on an aircraft to increase the camber.
They do not control airflow like strakes and leading-edge extensions.
F-16 Leading Edge Droop Flap.
Mig-29 Leading Edge Droop Flap.
Mirage 2000 Leading Edge Slats.
Incorrect.
A strake and canard improve airflow by controling it. Vortex generators are small fins that create mini wingtip vortices to energize the boundary layer and delay a stall.
The difference is that a Canard is also a foreword wing that generates additional lift along with the natural wingtip vortices as strakes do not provide additional lift themselves.
A leading-edge flap improves airflow over the wing and camber improving lift, but does not energize the boundary layer by creating a vortex flow field.
A Mirage 2000 has no canards.
Instead of large Leading-Edge Root Extensions like that of the Mig29 and F-16 the M2k is equipped with strakes.
