mig29 should beat any f16 in 1c but thats not the case in wt, so i guess we will have to wait to see how buffed or nerfed the su27 will be compared to the f15

early flankers already were monsters when talking about nose authority, i don’t think any fighter of 80s and 90s could beat them on that matter. In rb it might get it’s full capabilities limited tho, just like the mig29, it’ll all depend on how the devs will make the instructor behave. In sim it’ll destroy everything in 1C and on 2c i’m not sure, but i believe it’ll be formidable aswell

Has there been a bug report submitted about the overperforming F-16 FM? If so, has it been acknowledged by the developers?
I’m currently wondering if they’ll get around to fixing the F-16 flightmodel by the time the next patch rolls around, otherwise it’ll be pretty nutty seeing F-16s dominate Su-27s in the 1 circle in RB matches
yes, @MiG_23M did the bug report and it was ackowledged by gaijin but they didnt fixed the f16 fm 100%, it still overperforms a lot, I think mig23m can explain better why

They recognized that their f16 is pure scifi but they said that they can’t fix them for now, otherwise it’ll “brick” mouse aim. In my personal opinion they are not nerfing the f16 because it’s counterpart is currently superior in terms of bvr, the famous “balance” excuse, IMO, once they give amraams for the americans, they’ll nerf the plane.

The F-16C & D is overperforming because the Mig29 is underperforming. If the F-16C & D is dropped any further other 3rd Gen aircraft will perform on par in alpha and turn rate.
We need to take into account that many 3rd generation aircraft perform far better than they ever did irl in WT and stop looking through such a narrow lense of just two aircraft in the entire game.
(JH-7A, J7E and even some phantoms and Mig23s)
no, sorry zig, the f16C and the D as far as i know they seem ok compared to the 29, the 9.13 and 9.12 can easily beat them in 1c while they got the advantage at 2 circle and energy (which makes sense imo all f16s should be like that), the smt cant be on par with them cause that thing is a damn boat

Let me be more specific, my apologies.
They can dogfight at high speeds far beyond what the Mig29 is capable. Even if flown with perfect skill, no mistake. Only the G can.
They have crap ton more flares carried internally, especially the D.
Their roll and pitch at low speed is superior to the Fulcrum (big issue right there for me).
The Mig-29 is far more unforgiving than the F-16C when a mistake is made. That is historical. But players can fly a perfect match and can still get out turned and gunned by the C. Its just the way it is currently. Unless someone can just make the claim. The F-16C is just a superior aircraft over any fulcrum.
The newer ones are thousands of pounds heavier than the SMT and barely have a 7% thrust increase for the poorly modelled RD-33s?
Su-27 will be untouchable unless they fuck it over like they did the mig29 (which will probably happen, can’t upset the shitters)

Doesn’t it rival the f15 i don’t think it would be untouchable but the one of the best in the game yeah
if you play multiple nations on air rb, only then you will truly realise how handheld USA is on air

but the 29 is not inferior in performance compared to the f16c and D, only if you are talking specifically about the mig29 SMT, in which case I don’t know what can be done, the smt is a heavy boy, even tho i dont fully understand why the smt is bad like that cause the f14s are 10 ton heaveir than the 29s and can perform even better in 1 circle than the current 29s, so idk…
All of the mig29s are shitted, smt is just the worst for obvious reasons

in a slow speed dogfight, the C and D dominate the fulcrum and SMT. In a high speed dogfight the C & D dominate the fulcrum and SMT. Its only saving grace is the HMS and R73.
In a prolonged dogfight the C wins over the G. Which has the best chance but lacks stamina due to poor thrust to weight modelling.
Even Gio confirmed that thrust to weight does not increase when fuel is burned.
Its far worse than it should be imo.
You can carry the external fuel tank and 20 min internal fuel and fly better than a 30 min internal fuel tank. the SMT model is all screwed up and the Series 3 engines don’t even provide any fuel economy actually worse.
