Why would 9-13S went to BR 13.3? There is no reason for that. Even with fixed electronics 9-13S still will be BR 13.0 plane. To get it to BR 13.3, it would have to get R-77, which nobody wants as we have already SMT there.

6 R-77s is 13.3
then there is zero reason to turn it into MiG-29S. There is already Su-27 at 13.0 that does EVERYTHING better than MiG-29 9.13. Performance wise N019M have little to no improvements, only notable change is 2 DL channels for R-77s, which will be meaningless without said R-77s
Its already 9-13S basically. Just minor electronics fixes are needed to be historically accurate which practically change nothing and plane variety is still good to have. On BR 12.7 we have already Yak-141 and 9-12. We dont need there another MiG-29.
9.12 can’t remain at 12.7 because it shouldn’t have R-27ER. And if you are saying that 29S will bring variety to 13.0, please tell me what sort of variety it will be. What can 29S bring to the table of 13.0 USSR that isn’t covered by other jets already?
But should have R-73 what make it BR 12.7. 9-13S bring absolutely different flying model compared to Su-27 with its advantages and disadvantages.
Not to mention that Su-27 is in sim on BR 13.3 compared to 13.0 for 9-13. Another reason.
Okay, tell me about said “advantages” over Su-27. I am really looking forward to hear what MiG-29 has over Su-27
Why? 12.3 with R-60Ms and R-27Rs is much healthier place for a MiG-29 than 12.7 with R-73s and R-27Rs. Besides this will make Germany with 2 MiGs at the same exact battle rating.
Dead game modes are entirely different talk. Since majority of playerbase plays ARB, bringing up sim into this conversation is questionable.
I dont care about majority of playerbase when simulator is literally only playable air gamemode in game.
It slows down a lot faster.
… that’s about it.
Dog, then why do you even talk about balancing if you are only interested in one gamemode that isn’t even the most popular one?
Because balancing is important for all gamemodes. On BR 12.3 you can have many different planes. For example MLDG, MiG-31 or T-10. There is no need to have nerfed MiG-29.
Balancing that only benefits a single game mode while literally making an aircraft worse in every other mode isn’t balancing. Removing R-27ER/ET and T from MiG-29G and 9.13 isn’t gonna make them worse in Sim, especially considering the fact that they all will be moved a step lower. Same with removing ERs from all 9.12 airframes. But moving every signle MiG-29 to 12.7 and leaving only 9.13 turned into 9.13S at 13.0 will make a whole lot of aircrafts simply worse
talk about that WHEN or even IF they gonna appear in the game. Adding non-existant aircrafts into the talk about BR placements is, again, questionable.
Are you suggesting that we remove missiles from an aircraft without a flight model, radar, and RWR? That’s a great plan.
This is required for 2 reasons:
1 - technical accuracy. Every source, including MiG-29 combat manual only mentions R-27R missile (outside of R-60M and R-73) for it’s available air to air guided weaponry. R-27T, ET and ER were only available for MIG-29S (9.13S and export 9.13SE and 9.12SD)
2 - reduction of the br for said aircrafts. The only thing that keeps MiG-29 9.12 at 12.7 is R-27ER, without it, considering relatively poor FM, Radar and okayish RWR, MiG-29 can easily be placed at 12.3 and 12.7 for 9.12 and 9.13 respectfully. This is much healthier place for both of them, not being able to face hordes of 13.3 Fox-3 spammers, and having decent brackets at 12.0-12.7 that are full of players.
~Looking at the SMT flare boxes which kinda make more sense for the ‘Russian/Soviet’ line of Mig29’s
Finally…
Looks like we aren’t getting any MiGs next update.
Keep the cope high, maybe they’re making us a surprise
