There is also 2019 upgrade to R-27 family said to bring some of them (most likely ER and EP) to AIM-120C performance level
I doubt Gaijin would ever improve the 27E’s over what they already are.
The TSS guys already complain about the ER and call it the best missile in the game 24/7 (which is definitely fair considering how good the ER is.)
ER is as good as aircraft radar allows it to be. I have zero problems dealing with ERs launched from MiG-29s equipped with N019 radars.
The radar is def the main bottleneck. But on stuff like N001VEP (which is decent at holding locks) or god forbid N035 it becomes really good.
Yeah, on SM2 R-27ER is extremely scary and i am glad that most people don’t understand that
