MiG-29 did loose to Su-27 in test dogfights in Russia. MiG director coped that it’s because of the ruleset limitations and not because Su-27 is superior
I would look at everything that US pilots say with a big amount of skepticism, especially looking how differently the famous meeting of Su-27 and F-15 is described between US and USSR pilots

Well, MiG-29 underperforms in WT anyways in bleed rates. High speed performance is better than irl, but low speed performance is an absolute meme. And F-16 in WT enjoys the ultra instinct mode pilot that can pull insane AoA without just going into unrecoverable flatspin. And Eurocanards do total UFO bullshit and have flight model made out of guesstimates at best. Fulcrum is just a War Thunder jet in an Ace Combat lobby

How does the MIG-29 overperform in high speed performance?? Every time i get to altitude its acceleration is so bad it can barely hit 1300kph in time before your RWR beeps and then forces you to maneuver meaning you will lose all your speed, let alone when you climb to altitude it can’t keep up its speed at all even at 15 degrees.
because it’s acceleration and thrust is higher than it should be so it’s overperforming

notice at high speeds its above the line.
My low speed testing is a bit off, ignore that portion

If it overperforms then why it can’t hit those speeds faster or quicker???
Becauseit overperforms in very specific ways.
Still it feels very slow compared to other aircraft, if it overperforms at high speeds then other aircraft are plainly artificial FMs.

My last gripe with the 29s in general is the speed bleed. Not sure if its accurate or not though. 120 CMs will make it a lot better regardless :)
Probably not. Channel loss for 1st gen MiG-29 might also be incorrect after all. @kizvy you didn’t do any tests with the info that guy posted in a thread about MiG-29/F-2A flight models?
I havent gotten the 9.15 yet but from watching DEFYN’s video on it, the thing really likes to dump its energy in turns compared to the Su-27SM, F-15C MSIP or any of the other 13.7s. I know theyre different flight models yada yada but thats a pretty big disadvantage especially in dogfights and defending from missiles, so thats why i kinda question the speed bleed a bit.
The acceleration and speed of the MiG-29 though is incredibly good which kind of makes up for the speed bleed. (Coming from the 9.13 at least). It just saddens me that you kind of fall out of the sky in a few turns. Might be a skill issue on my end idk. Im also not sure if the 9.15 turns any better than the 9.13 either. Didnt have time to fly it around in the dev server :/

it took gaijin several years to even admit that Su-27 was bleeding too much speed and didn’t had enough lift during maneuvers, with MiG-29 it is even worse

Oof.
I hope they do correct it sometime in the future. Especially if there are bug reports on the speed bleed and FM in general. I dont have high expectations of it but one can hope 🥀
