9.31 is the Navalized version of the 9.15 we have in game.
So yes, both are boatmaxxing.

Let me be “that guy”. 9.15 and 9.31 were developed independently, but with big unification in mind. They are more like siblings, not parent-child

Not just dueling but overall flight performance is better which gives you more chance to survive.
29M would’ve been nice if it had 120cm’s and better flight performance.
9.15 has a pretty good advantage when it comes to top speed and supersonic acceleration as well. This is very helpful in ARB. But i am also waiting for 120 CMs for this thing, tho i doubt that flight performance will be improved, gaijin gonna play “it’s good enuff” card again
How I wish, that the MiG-29M had the funny nozzles, it would be my favourite duel FM.
I agree on top speed part but the acceleration wise 9KR still looks better, especially on 110 thrust.
Might be wrong tho.
If it had similiar lifting to 9KR it would’ve been amazing.
Well you could have OVT version but you gotta loose your arsenal :)

OVT nozzles are not integral part of the RD-33MK engine and are installed “externally”. So, by gaijin own logic - technical compatibility exists. Same goes for AL-31F M1

Yeah but the thing is OVT version irl didnt have any FCS and im pretty sure Gaijin will not allow us to install that mod to our 29M directly.
Not the most useful though, when steering with the keyboard while freelooking the thrust vectoring just makes the plane flop around

Yeah, threshold on the Su-30SM2 is about 600kph.
Say when you want to flare a shutoff IR seeker missile behind you, the usual technique is flaring while pulling in helix
But you lose speed doing it and when it drops below ~600kph, the thrust vectoring kicks in and flips you around, stopping you basically dead in the water

But that is a specific VERSION of an aircraft, i am talking about installing OVT nozzles on every airframe equipped with RD-33MK because they are technically compatible
