Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

Yep, most of the stuff that you can find over the internet is export manuals (doesn’t actually mean that they 100% correct, nothing stops USSR from changing some of the numbers in the manual), or books that people saved despite such actions (which is technicaly a felony)

That’s incredibly unfortunate.

Understandable, but unfortunate.

So how come we have so many informations or documents about Soviet Era vehicles in this game?

Did those informations came from out of nowhere or Developers used well preserved documents alongside with good enough second hand sources?

Not to mention how do you plan to report Su-35 or MiG-35’s flight/electronic systems if you’re not willing to accept other than first hand sources?

Cause last time I checked those manuals are still highly classified as well.

Please, read the thread.

What this even has to do with my point of brochures != real life performance.

You basically proved my point with that statement, most documents used to model those vehicles either export ones or secondary hand sources which is the nature of modelling highly classified vehicles.

Brochures have been used multiple times to model weapon systems/vehicle when Gaijin needed certain data’s.

Also I don’t recall mentioning brochures on my previous posts as well but the point still stands.

Sigh, ok, i’ll use simple words.
It is not about what gaijin uses for modelling.
It is about brochures != real life perfomance. Period, nothing more, no fruther development, full stop.

I understood what you meant from the beginning.

What I do not accept is the fact that your claim doesn’t have hundred percent proof nor its a good way to dismiss this idea.

Sure not every brochure reflects performance aspects accurately but when you out of options it can be the only way to model certain aspects.

But this has nothing to do with original question.
Original question from @Dzhkグ was about comparison of in-game version to IRL version. Not comparison to the whatever shit marketing department put in the brochures. That’s why i said that brochures != IRL perfrofmance. And this devolved fruther into topic about modelling stuff in general.

Yes we drifted away from original discussion.

The thing is EFT’s flight manual that contains super cruise capabilities cannot be used to report due to bein still classified so the only thing that is left is the brochure specs.

It may be not hundred percent accurate but saying the these are marketing and manufacture lies is a disgusting way to ignore those reports by Gaijin.

Gaijin does everything it their way to make something in their own “view”. Look at MiG-29K and R-27, since we are in a MiG-29 thread.
Or a Yak-130, that clearly can get flares, MAW, and missiles to defent itself and can be placed at higher br, but i guess those are also marketing lies

They can reject any report to fit x vehicles to their ideal view like those examples you mentioned.

But claiming certain things are marketing lies or rejecting reports based on “we believe” is disgusting thats for sure.

And yes I’m also pissed how they decided to model MiG-29K and Yak-130 in order to fit their agenda.

I wonder with 5 fuel tanks if the 29k has more fuel than something like the su-35/su-34 with 2 fuel tanks.

the 29K can carry 6750 literes in the 5 drop tanks combined

the Su-34 carries 6000 literes in 2 droptanks (it could take a 3rd one on the ceterline tho)

but the Su-34 can carry more fuel internally than the Mig-29K can with 5 drop tanks and full internal fuel and i would assme that will also be the case with the Su-35S

MiG-29 doing aerial refuelling of Su-34 will be hilarious. Duck will suck it completely dry
