I decided to just look through the MiG-29 manual myself and it seems like he’s right.
There’s no mention of Chaff.
there is a pilot interview where they talk about shooting chaff out the cannon

I was reading a bit on the ED forums and there was some speculation they could load one CM pod with chaff and the other with flares, so a 30-30 split, but I didn’t see any evidence for it.
CM block utilizes 26mm rounds, there is 26mm chaff and flare rounds not being able to choose the type of rounds to fire doesn’t mean you cannot fire the other kind…
