Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 1)

yeah, it has small bulges in front of the fins, and nozzle isn’t tapered, it’s a mockup of a normal R-77
also nice to see 9.31 still kicking

su30 carries 6 tds at 12.3 already…

Likely very old for SAPSAN-E to still be there.

its not flat like the 77

R-77-1 doesn’t have a small triangle bulge in front

Yeah that sounds about right, right in SAPSAN-E timeframe.

i see thanks

Looking at the small bulges at the side of the hump and the wingtips 9.18 was made out of 9.12 airframe. In WT would be a slightly better version of Japanese MiG-29N (if 9.18 had N010M, don’t remember if it did)

it does yeah

All SMTs are based off 9.12/13s, and yes it’s basically a 29N w/ N010M.

Goddamit gaijin, i will gladly trade L-150 for much lighter airframe

i know, i just didn’t remember which one’s which. 9.18 would be quite decent at 13.3, even without L-150 or additional flares. If Gordon is to be trusted, N010 is 60% lighter than N019, 9.18 would be probably as light as 9.12 or a bit heavier

unpainted SMT-R 9.19R

I was under the impression that they do not model the pressure losses with AoA.

I do not think the pressure ratios are calculated equally and thus should not be directly compared as such. We would need actual installed thrust data for both with fuel and air ratio plots etc which of course will never happen.

All we can do is use basic metrics that do not change installed or uninstalled, at speed or not. The bypass ratio is a static variable.

What calibre are the mig-29m cms, and how many pop at once?

Single release on dev, dunno about caliber.

irl they are 26mm, anything below 50mm is classed as regular in game if i remember correct

same

wouldn’t modelling pressure losses with AOA make the F-14A’s engines die from compressor stall?
