I mean there’s Gripen with only 4 Fox-3s flying at the same br. But in general i agree that 6 missiles is… psychologically uncomfortable amount of Fox-3s at 13.7
He meant PIDS i think, when he talked about sacrificing a missile. Or this F-16 can’t get them?

At 13.7 Fox-2 missiles still plays a important role for CQC engagements, hell even at top tier they are still quite useful.
Also unlike F-16AM JAS39 doesnt have to sacrifice any missile while having tons of countermeasures.
Norwegian F-16AM gets PIDS indeed, problem is MAW only becomes active when you equipped the rail.

SMT is a bit overweight
and it still has a pocket dimension for fuel

Yeah but in return it has better flight performance, much better radar and tons of countermeasures.
F-16AM can’t even do BVR most of the time due to very limited CM amounts (45 without any PIDS rail).

that pylon can only carry A2G munitions tho

Indeed it does. AM probably can be brought down to 13.3, or given PIDS pylons capable of carrying A2A missiles (iirc someone showed that there is such version of a pylon)
It would slightly be better if it has 60 normal countermeasures

PIDS pylons was designed to carry A2G munitions, it lacks necessary wiring and rail mounts to carry any sort of A2A missiles.
Would have been much better than its current state because that means you’ll get additional 15 pops of Countermeasure.
