Some numbers from the mig-29m fm

The worst thing they could have done is base the flight model on the SMT, when it’s known that the MiG-29M is actually based on the MiG-29A in real life
why is that surprising?
29smt is copy paste of 9-12/13 flight model other than having extra fuel tank, less fuel consumption and more weight.
29m would be a lot closer to smt than the 9-12/9-13 cause of the weight
nope the 29SMT has different fuelsalage drag curves from the 9-12/13
probs just cause it already has basically the same avionics set, but yeah it is stupid
I Should’ve realized, it’s bit thicker than the 9-12 and the 9-13.
Though I would assume that mostly affects top speed
Phazotron is an insanely good name for a radar company
I was wondering if the newer internal modeling would fix this, but are the fuel tank sizes unrealistically small on all 29 variants? I feel like the central fuel tanks should fill out the fuselage more, plus the M should have more fuel capacity.
9.15 currently has incorrect fuel tanks, just copied from previous models. As for the size of the fuel tanks themselves… dunno, they look pretty close, i saw some photos of MIG-29 airframe in assembly and there is not a lot of free space inside
so this should be the 29M and SMT at ~12760kg (20 & 25% fuel respectively) based on those latest datamined weight and fuel figures for the 9.15 - also f16c@30% for reference
certainly a much more useable jet, ofc still significantly more energy bleed than other 4th gens cause its a WT 29, and not remotely close to baby plane FM’s - but seems at least useable.
also 9.15@20% & 9.12@50% for same 12760 weight
Damn, the difference between 9.15 and block 50 is massive.
yeah - f16A’s and grippen+ fm’s are another big step up again, same with similar br flankers like 27sm at test fuel loads (~20%). But at least mig will feel way better compared to other mig’s, even the high alpha and stall speed stability changes make it feel much different than 29A’s
Superior US pilot that can maintain stability of F-16 even at extreme AoA trough sheer will because FBW is disabled
yep f16 on manual is extremely good - alas gaijin will never change that i fear, despite reality
Eh, i got used to this. F-16 isn’t even good in this meta anyways, anything with less than 8 missiles is pretty much a prey. ADF at 13.3 is somewhat competitive but still.
yeah missile load makes a huge difference, especially in the current iron dome meta which is even migrating into rb gameplay now
That’s why i think that 29M will not be DOA, and probably will be decently enjoyable. Su-27SM still gonna be a better pick trough sheer performance, but 29M offers some fun options like R-27ER with 85 degrees of radar gimbal or 8 Fox-2s with small airframe that can play in the terrain and ambush people. But gaijin buffing FM would be even better.
yeah for sure, 9.15 should at least be a fun and viable option now and any other fm buffs are more than welcome (and warranted especially when compared to its competition)
Well if Norwegian F-16AM can sit at 13.7 with 6 missiles and 45CM’s only I’m sure 29M will be fine at same br, tho both of them should be 13.3 in my opinion.
Considering Su-30 at 13.3 - yeah, it’s more than warranted, but i guess gaijin can’t allow a strictly better aircraft to sit at the same br (but only if it’s the aircraft of the same family), so the only way for 29M to get to 13.3 is if SMT will go to 13.0, but that will lead to 9.13 moving to 12.7 and 9.12 to 12.3. For gaijin it will be too much of a headache
