Sustained is very relevant, even in rb - it still can indicate better energy retention which is still one of the deciding factors as to who will come out on top, but just looking at the SEP=0 and max turn rate lines are not good enough to judge a fm. At least put 300,-300 & -600 lines as well cause then u can much more accurately judge the bleed/gain rates - i like to put ±150 too but it can look a bit cluttered. For instance with any mig29 u have ‘similar’ sustained to f16’s, however u will see that the bleed and gain rates are vastly worse (and are worse then every other 4th gen iirc), hence why the jet flies like ass compared to everything else.
Sorry if u already know all that, just i dont recall seeing anyone else even post them with the rest of the lines to more accurately judge it.
Might need to adjust the fuel down for the 9.15 as it’s empty weight should be a bit heavier than the 9.12 - not sure exactly what the 9.15 weight is modeled at rn tho - but just take the amount that it weight more than the 9.12 off the fuel load. As comparing them at the same weight is often the best way to see the raw fm differences between the two
Also an option. But in this case MiG-29K/35 could probably be modelled with 2-row pods from Egyptian MiG-29Ms. 72 countermeasures isn’t the best, but at least it is in a “workable” cathegory.
Yeah, so u can see that 29M is slightly better at low speeds(~<500) with a little bit better energy gain up to ~800ias. But is currently basically worse at everything else barring max instantaneous turn, with worse bleed rates at every point and even worse 300 gain rate from ~800-1200 (though 9.15 is significantly much more stable at stall speeds which is a nice addition).
Naturally take it with a grain of salt till the dev server is finished as its basically still a smt fm underneath afaik without any beneficial lift changes of the airframe (in fact i think it actually just makes more drag currently lmao), only with more engine power and the stability increase - so its entirely possible for it to get more work done to it.
Why is the turn so much worse than the other migs? That’s not what it was made of. Disappointed to see it perform way worse in dogfights even when the reports and manual prove different.
Its like the SMT but even worse on turns and maneuvering. Thats stupid when it was proven to be better than the first production variants. The 2 extra hardpoints and thrust is useless if you cant even fully utilize it like the other migs. At this point just grind the MiG-29N in japan.
