Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25PD Foxbat-E — The Refined Foxbat

I have only photographs and secondary sources but all are consistent in this and list KDS-155 (60 large caliber flares - 30 on every wing)…it also fits with the photos. ASO-2 is non-existent on this plane. No mentions, no photos.

Gents, I did some calculations with A.I on the topic of SR 71 interception feasibility by a MiG-25, based on all data I have in this suggestion, after numerous recalculations and corrections this is the result I got. An interception of an SR 71 by a MiG-25PD was possible under very specific conditions.

Knew I'd seen that image around before...

Do wanna note that it says “optional twin flare launchers” so my interpretation is that they were only showing ONE of them to show the mounting point on the opposite. Hoping this gets changed eventually.

The flare dispenser is significantly bulkier than the original wing fence, as a result its aerodynamic characteristics are different. It makes no logical sense for such a disparity to be ok for a Mach-3 aircraft. This must be an error on their part.

meanwhile random mobile games can do it but gaijin multi-million $ company can’t be bothered to model it

Probably counts as a weapon suggestion. You got to suggest it (the feature) if I am not mistaken. It not being bug is kind of true. It just isn’t a feature yet.

I do not know if there are any other jets featured in game that have the same capability, but if they do Gaijin might need to add a keybind to the settings, specifically for this feature. And then they’ll have to reprogram the other vehicles (if any) to have the same or similar capability. It’s kind of a headache, but it shouldn’t be for a multi-million dollar company.

On the other hand they could just allow the missiles to be launched without a lock, in a similar way you’d launch an S-5K rocket. This might be an easier option.

First time I see mentioned ASO-2 dispensers on MiG-25PD. Do you have also some other sources which mention them or real photos?

might be oblivious here, but what about the weight of said mig-25 itself?

Check the specifications

MiG-25PD in Soviet service. With SPO-15 antennas and KDS-155 large caliber flare dispensers together with 60 flares. I do not know know why Gaijin chose to follow that schematic instead of what we have here.

Yep blue 45. Another photo of it.

In 1985, a serial copy of the MiG-25PD (Foxbat E) high-altitude interceptor fighter was equipped with a retractable in-flight refueling pod in front of the cockpit, at a position slightly to the right of the fuselage longitudinal axis, at one of the repair plants. The MiG-25PD (Foxbat E) (blue 45) thus modified became known as the MiG-25PDZ and first took off from the runway in early 1986.

I can imagine it as TT version.

My mistake. This could’ve been added instead. Fits more naturally as an event.
