Considering how many bug reports for the missing modes and performance of the MiG-23’s MTI have been blown off… about as likely as the A6 SWIP

Apparently, Arab exported PD versions featured standard the SPO-15 and the KDS-155, making a rare occasion that the export variants were better equipped than the VVS use variants

Weeeell, to be fair VVS did not use MiG-25, but rather PVO (air-defense) and IIRC always were and still are getting “second child” treatment with shiny cool toys go first to VVS/VKS

It’s important to note that the export customers were not the ones who designed these modifications. They were designed and tested in the USSR before being sent for export. So in theory, if they could have them, so could the USSR.

At least the Soviet PDs actually get CMs. Which is something to be celebrated.

Here is an Oryx article claiming that the Syrian MiG-25s used their R-40 missiles against ground targets on multiple occasions: The Syrian Arab Air Force - Beware of its Wings - Oryx

The MiG-25’s controls allowed it to do this!

Even if this thing doesn’t end up being good it will be hella fun to fly with, quite excited to see the dev stream.

It could be implemented as a standalone missile. It would be interesting to have something against ground targets on that aircraft.

The big one

That missile is really Aladeen.

Problem is that IRL it’s not a standalone system.

Switching mode is not implemented in game. Adding it as standalone missile can be good alternative to moment when switching will be available.

Indeed a problem. I believe they can simply allow the missiles to launch without lock, to activate this “direct-impact” mode. In a similar way to how unguided-rockets are used.
