the mig31m is to the mig31 what the Mig-29M (9.15) is to the mig29
Mig-31BM with L-150
In a 100% confirmed way - yes.
it’s a BM? I thought BMs lost ability to carry R-60s and R-40s

I know, and in the book the UV-3A dispensers are also listed for the earlier MiG-31 and MiG-31B.
Plus (and unfortunately) Gaijin uses selective realism so they’re probably going to say “if this was technically possible on the MiG-31M then we’ll give the MiG-31B 60 rounds of CM”
without much specifics it’s quite a stretch. And MiG-31B belly section is different from MiG-31M so technical compatibility is very questionable
The MiG-21MF can use R-3R missiles even though its radar is not compatible with them and yet here we are. I don’t condone this, but they do it.
It’s also downright impossible that as a modern jet the MiG-31B never got the option to fit countermeasures, even if its flight mission profile does not include close quarter engagements.
I’ll try to look for the reference. I wrote this thread a long time ago.
i think so as well, provisions to mount SOME countermeasures should be there. Maybe similar to MiG-25 in wing ridges? Because outside Gordon’s book i never saw any mention of specifically UV-3 dispencers for MiG-31
My thoughts exactly, it should come with the optional addition of mounting countermeasures regardless, the MiG-31 and MiG-31B could make use of the UV-3A dispensers and there’s a photo of a MiG-31M with those BVP-50-60 dispensers on the wing ridges.
In fairness it wouldn’t be the first time that a Soviet/Russian airframe was fitted for but not with a piece of equipment in service for one reason or another.
Spoiler
Though I suppose the MiG-31 not having CM dispensers is less of an issue than the Ka-52 seemingly not having an RWR in Russian service for whatever reason…
Main Threat for a Heli is usually a MANPADS, and Ka-52 has very effective MAW and LDIRCM so it kinda makes sense why RWR wasn’t a highest priority
