M is the only variant that carried R-37. BM only carries R-33 or R-37M. There was a proposal upgrade of BM where it could carry 2 R-37Ms on its inner wing pylon, but it seems that VKS didn’t pick this one, only giving it R-73 and R-77-1 as a wing option
only few prototypes were built and program was canned cuz no moni
I see I see, so unless gaijin decides to add the M variant of the MiG, we should pretty much expect a very high br one (R-37M carrier) and possibly an early one with R-33’s & R-40’s.
MiG-31M could be an interesting middle-way variant, like one that doesn’t see rafales, su-30’s and Eurofighters every match but still has ARH.
i would love to collect all USSR “M” projects, and the fact that we did get MiG-29M gives me a bit of hope that Su-27M and MiG-31M might eventually appear in one way or the other
nah, i’ll be fine with its intended configuration. 13.7 Flanker with either very good mechanical radar or very good PESA radar at the cost of no R-77-1 is more than good for me. Even if Su-27SM is superior in terms of flight model
I know, i just feel this configuration to be… dirty. Like with current SM2. I don’t mind bending some of the rules like giving 64 countermeasures to MiG-29K because it is as simple as replacing the pods, but giving Su-27M engines that it never really had or supposed to have and was selected as a testbed mostly because it was available at hand and could withstand the alterations.
