There’s no clean good pictures of a 31BM with countermeasures, but there is one blurry photo out there, other than that no other MiG-31s have countermeasures besides 31M.
However none of the 31BMs you sent pics off have CMs.
Early MiG-31 as mentioned below doesn’t have countermeasures, but also it’s cockpit wouldn’t work that great for sim and the sort, most of the important stuff is in the WSO suite.
War Thunder have UI for sim and CM can be added for balance same as was added on many other planes. I really dont see any problem with that.
Well it’s base weaponry are also too good for it to be low enough that having no CMs would be fine?
Plus it’s radar is also quite powerful.
I dont think it will go lower than BR 12.3 so should get CM. 48 CM I think?
We have F-14A at 12.7 with similarly performing missiles, so MiG-31B will probably be around the same. Matter of countermeasures is gonna be difficult to solve, outside of just giving you Flare/Chaff rounds for GSh-6-23.
MiG-31BM ain’t going any lower than 13.7 with R-37Ms and at this point countermeasures are pretty much needed. Imo, the best MiG-31 to add is unironically MiG-31M but there is little to no information about its flight performance, and it should be a good chunk better than MiG-31B
Yes, however it quite literally cannot get countermeasures unless gaijin were to I suppose BS the 18 from MiG-31M onto it.
Also R-33s (and R-33S specifically) are rather good for WT’s sake, I doubt we’d see it below 12.7 at the lowest.
Looks like 3x APP-50 blocks together with 24 flares on MiG-31M.
I assume Gaijin will stick them on every single MiG-31 variant that will come into game.

We could get two 31s. One with R-33s (maybe basic 77s) as best missile at like 12.7-13.0 as F-14 “equivalent” and toptier 31BM with R-37M and 77-1
12.0 is way too low for MiG-31. But i am not gonna say no to that, just cuz it will be hilariously funny
12.0 is too low for MiG-31 and still on this BR it need flares.
it really doesn’t need flares unless you plan on dogfighting enemies after launching your R-33s from spawn
BaZ tactic on medium/short distance still require flares what will be pretty common as majority of players most of time multipath (at least this is how it was in late days of nuclear event and in sim from my experience). R-33 attacks from long distances will be pretty often ineffective same as it is with other similar planes with similar missiles.
The “F-14” Equivalent MiG-31, would be MiG-31B.
Which cannot use R-77s.
