Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-25 & MiG-31 Foxbat / Foxhound - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

yeah as tier 1 and 2 modules is not that bad.

I dont know how much EFS will useful for it to be fair. I think any hit will probably take you out anyway

well, Engine module is also 43k, it’s just the fact that it is same amount RP as a rank 4 aircraft for a module. And poor F-16ADF before AMRAAM was added had to grind 100k RP for an engine module

Ha yeah morning tiredness :D

R-33 missile

This should mean r-37m also has no launch restrictions, so technically you can fire it as off boresight as you want to but ofc it might not be able to actually pull in for those kind of shots

considering the range of this missile, this “off boresight shot” might very well be from like 30 kilometers. I don’t remember if MiG-31 can give DL guidance to a missile launched from another MiG-31 but i do remember hearing that they can share DL between the jets themselves.

Yes it can. Also it can guide missiles launched by mig29, su27 etc

yea it can share DL between plane.
it was know back in the soviet that su27 can turn off radar and a mig guide the missile .

dude chill you type so fast

not the R-27 i presume?

what would it guide then ? there is only r27

Probably r27

Well, kizvy shared info about export R-27 before and document mentioned that missile required hard lock to a target. That’s why it is confusing

Pesa and AESA radars can guide multiple SARHs at once

Well, not every single one from my understanding. It was a neat feature of Zaslon and now Irbis.

that explain why mig31 was the awacs back in time

i found this a while back

Well, current RVV-BD uses 9B-1103-350 seeker so i guess this is one of the differences between old R-37 project and the modern missile

N019 and N001 already had provisons to guide multiple r-27r/er at once

iirc they just couldnt do it becasue the radars didnt had enough ram to remember the frequencies the missiles were fired at
