I think he is talking about the original production model MiG-23S (No not the export MiG-23MS) before MiG-23M
but then why would anyone want a Mig-23 thats not even able to fire the r23 and is limited to r-3r
at that point just fly the Mig-21

There’s the 9.3-10.3 gap between the MiG-21F-13 and the MiG-21SMT for a MiG-23S with R-3R’s
Front a recent pilots interview I listened too this thing should turn even worse then it already does but should be like a good bit faster.
It’s overperforming in sustained turn rate by 1-1.5gs like the f5.
Just that when it got historically nerfed, it was literally unplayable so gaijin buffed it back up a little bit

How much fuel would that be? Its sustained G capability isn’t great but it’s certainly usable.
That’s hilarious it takes it over 40 seconds to reverse its turn and complete a full circle at 5km
A harrier can do it in 16 or so at 20,000 feet.

Not sure but it was a red eagles pilot
He flew it against everything from tornados to F-15s.
He said it turned even worse than the tornado.
I am fairly sure those were MiG-23MS so I wouldnt really take those opinions and apply them to ALL MiG-23 knowing the MS was literally the worst variant of the fighter 23s (in terms of dog fighting performance pretty much too)
No they had some MLs or whatever the newer ones were
