Wowowowow hold the phone, PD? In the MiG-23MLA/MLD? Like actual Pulse Doppler?
It isn’t a PD, this discussion is very old.
I always knew those modes used a doppler filter to avoid locking chaff and be used as a pseudo SD mode when mti was not available.
It’s not search PD but once target is locked it has basically the same effect

If MLD got PD I think that would cause issue honestly.
Its already superior to the ML especially in sim, and in uptiers against f14 with a capable rwr. 11.7 is a rough BR and we all know why. 11.3 and 11.7 are completely different MM because of that certain undertiered bvr plane.
But you cant move the mld up and if it gets PD you cant move the other mig23s down bc there are tons of worse planes in the russian TT at 11.3 its just a mess. The result is the premium mig23 becoming an even bigger scam than it is.
An MLD with doppler mode on the radar for tracking and R-73s can absolutely fight F-14s

What Gaijin could do is add a MiG-23P that would go to BR 11.7 and then add R-24MR, R-73 missiles and fix radar on the MiG-23MLD and they could easily push it to BR 12.3 where I can have perfect setup together with Su-25SM3 (for simulator).
