After a couple of years brake (4-5 actually :D ) started to play again.
Pleasant surprise was the israeli tree (jaaay).
One thing bothering me: why the premiums werent taken to this tree from the USA/GB?
The Merk 1+2b should be with their brother chariots and the Sho’t is the very same.
They don’t move vehicles they’ve already added. There’s still the Strv 81 Rb52 in the british tree as an example. They won’t add the same vehicles to Israel either since they believe doing so would devalue the ones in the US tree.
Israeli premiums were migrated. Sho’t Kal Dalet (UK), Peten (USA), and F-84F (France) were all withdrawn from those trees and now re-sold as Premiums in the Israeli tree
The Merkavas in the US tree weren’t premiums and weren’t obtained through the store - they were “one time only” event vehicles that are sold by players that obtained them. Gaijin re-issuing them in the Israeli tree has a monetary impact on those players, which will cause too much of a problem.
Some compensation or a possibility to choose to relocate your Sho’t + Magach into israeli tree
would be nice.
I can do nothing reasonable with them now.
Yeah, to be fair that could probably be done for people who still have a coupon - there are mechanisms in the game for combining two coupons in the inventory to produce another, so if Gaijin wanted they could publish a time-limited “upgrade” coupon that converts the US coupon to an Israeli one and allow those people to decide
But people who already cashed in the coupons and got the US Merkavas would probably complain that they never had the choice, and it’s uncertain how fair the market prices would then be between the competing US and Israeli versions of the coupon since one would face an increase in scarcity and be more valuable.
There isn’t currently a mechanism for moving already-owned vehicles, and implementing one at this stage would create problems for Gaijin due to past instances where they have effectively railroaded people into buying certain premium vehicles twice if they wanted to access it in the new tree
We don’t even need migration, just copy & pasting into the Israeli tree, mainly because we don’t have a tech tee Merkava 3D which is odd given how notable of a variant it is with the composite shields, the only way to olay a mk3D is to buy the Ra’am sagol which has the APS mounted so it doesn’t look the same.
Not nice from Gaijin, not nice at all :/
And if they dont want to ctr-c/-v them into the israeli tree, they could have been offer
to ‘buy’ the vehicles for their gold value, if you dont want to keep the GB, US’Israeli’ stuff.
In this current case they are quite useless atm.
They could do one simple thing, that those who have the event vehicle in the garage would be given a ticket, that could not be sold, but that would give the choice to move those vehicles from the country they are in to their original tech tree.
I think it is very good that at the time, without plans to add the Israeli tech tree, some tanks were added as event and premium vehicles in other nations, but once they planned to add the Israeli tech tree they should have planned to give the possibility of changing those vehicles to their real tech tree. Because of this planning Israel does not have such important vehicles as the first Merkava model, the Merkava 2C (or B Late) and the Merkava 3D. On the other hand, because of gaijin I had to buy again the Merkava 3 ERA (which still uses bullets that it should not), and the Shot Kal Dalet.
This is one of the things that bothers me about devs, there is not a single situation where devs give players a benefit for a mistake that the devs themselves have caused.
I played WOT for many years, and I remember that they made a change to several American tanks. Since the American T34 did not work well, they decided to make changes, replacing it with the M103. They could have just made the change and that was it, but no, the players who had the T34 in the garage received the M103 and also received the T34 as a premium tank. That is being consistent with your decisions, since you want to change a tank that does not work well, you change it and those who had it get the new one and you keep the old one as premium.
However, when gaijinn faced a similar situation (in fact worse), which was the removal of the stabilizer from the Italian M60A1, instead of doing the logical and beneficial thing for the players, which would be, either refund the money, or in any case exchange it for the OF-40 premium and also give the M60A1 without the stabilizer but without premium benefits, well no, the people who spent money ate the M60 without stabilizer and as a pardon for harming the players they only gave a 30% discount to buy the OF-40 premium to those who originally bought the M60. A real shame.
I would be much in favor of a convert or move button:
You get the option to switch the premium to the correct tree (and thereby lose the crewing SL and the accumulated crew ace points)
OR
Your premium is converted into the new premium on the same tree (i.e. Greek Apache, French Vautour).
I think this would be a fair move to paying customers.
Offering the same tree premium at 30% discount is not!
This Vietnamese spaag was a prize of summer event in the past for USSR, but later they added it to Chinese regular tree.
They rarely do it yes, but there is no such rule.
Added, they don’t move stuff, for example when Italian TT was added you had to research them again even if you had them in German tab already (while those remained there).
