The Mig29 should not have the 27er as it never used them (besides the 29smt)
Okay? Thats not what this post is about.
Theres plenty of fake vehicles and ahistorical loadouts in war thunder. Theres no reason to single out aircraft you may not like.
Edit: Not to mention it CAN equip them. Using them is not a requirement.
The post is about the Mig29 getting its historical r73’s you can’t demand for partial historical accuracy either all the way or none
The Mig29 can’t use the r27er without modifications/ upgrades and especially the German and Hungarian Migs shouldn’t have access to it, since it was never exported to those countries
Again… “fake and ahistorical loadouts” are nothing new to War Thunder, its literally a moot point considering the MiG-29 CAN carry R-27ER.
Are you really going to act like a ton of aircraft aren’t a Frankenstein configuration?
F-15E
Rafale
F6F-5
Are just a few off the top of my head.
not the 9.12 and 9.13
or the east germans just didnt knew they had the r-27er
it is like saying the F-15A should have the AMRAAM becasue there are other F-15 versions that have it<
or that the F-16A should have the AMRAAM
Not having the weapon in service != inCompatibility
the r-27er wasnt in service until almost a decate after the mig-29
so tell me how would the base mig-29 be fully compatible without any upgrades
Doesn’t mean mig-29 9-12/9.13a/b before s couldn’t carry it
sure you could also strap a r-37m to a 9.12 but that dosent mean it can fire it
What’s stopping mig-29 from firing a r27er. Uses same pylons and everything
the fire control system
The computer
you need to have a special chip in your radar for it that on the MIG-29 SNIPER
From what I remember Mikoyan (or MAPO-MiG as it was at the time) when they were updating the on-board computer to NATO standards also included the latest software updates which included compatibility with the R-27ER. This is because MAPO-MiG was extremely strapped for cash and wanted to sell additional jets (along with parts, weapons, etc.) to the Luftwaffe who at the time was looking for a bridge between the F-4F and Eurofighter. The Luftwaffe ultimately decided against it due to the low lifetime of the engines and the low range of aircraft.
