The MiG 29 m (9-15) has a huge problem. It sits at 13.7 with r77s on an old airframe and radar? I say we give it r-77-1s since it’s the only MiG 29 to be able to carry them in real life anyway. And you could put it at 14.0 because it already gets consistent up-tiers every game.

The issue with the MiG-29M is not the R-77s, that’s a very good missile, the main issue is the low countermeasure count (bug report for 120 spine-mounted countermeasures is accepted), the second issue is the flight model just being meh.
Everything else about the plane is pretty good

I think you guys forget that this thing faces CONTSTANT uptiers so it’s basically 14.3 already. Not to mention the fact that is has barely any countermeasures in a fox 3 spam meta

Just wrong. So many better radars such as all the Chinese flankers and typhoons. It plays them every game due to constant uptiers.
Don’t get me wrong the MiG 29 isn’t bad but the fact that it has r77s in basically 14.3 (gets uptiered every game) is horrible. Either give it better missiles or fix the br.

Yes, there are few countermeasures. The plane forces you to maintain a good position on the map.
The 13.7 is one of the best non-AESA radars.
The R-77 is good, the only real problem is the countermeasures that limit what the aircraft can do. eight missiles, that’s too much Soviet democracy for the 13.3, plus the aircraft’s avionics and engines, which are far superior to those of the MiG-29SMT.
That’s exactly the issue. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good radar, but when put in 14.3 lobbies all the time you are severely outclassed.
Yeah, but no the radar is more than enough for the current state of ARBs, and you’re always harping on about Uptier, but what about when you go to 12.7? Or 13.3?
Ehh that’s what I’m trying to get at when I say fix the br but to be fair that goes for half the aircraft in this game. Could just be a skill issue on my part.

so please explain how a canned prototype from the 90s is supposed to be able to fire a missile from the 2010s
and again the Mig-29K and Mig-29SMT are both able to use the R-77-1
and then there is the Mig-29M 9.41 which is able to use the R-77-1 but not the Mig-29M 9.15
the avionics are not superior to the 29SMT if anything the 29SMT has a better radar
the 29SMT uses the N010M
the 29M uses the earlier N010
It doesn’t face 14.3 every game
R-77s are the third best Fox-3 simply due to the pull
You also have the R-27ER with 85° gimbal limits to make up for the range issue
in game both have the N010M for some reason, i bug reported it but it have gone ignored so far
what’s second best? (i assume 1st is obviously mica or a GNSS missile depending on opinion)
