hmmmm from what I can see, it would appear that one of the main reasons behind the cancellation of the mig29 sniper was that romania couldnt effectively maintain their mig29s and possibly some type of embargo by MiG/russia on buying new engines for the mig29s after romania joined nato

Wait wait wait. I honestly don’t understand the decisions anymore. It now has NATO bombs in dev server, but not western missiles? Am I missing something or aren’t these bombs not found on any Romanian MiG-29? I never saw them

Ah so its ok for the YaK-141 or Mirage 4K to get things it was proposed for but never fitted with but not this? thats good to know. There goes any and all interest i had in the thing…

i still do not understand why they are adamant in not giving it at least r-73 and bump the br to 13.0.
“we do not sell top br premium vehicles” lies, u sell a viggen with amraams at 13.0 so why not give the sniper its hystorical loadout that is ABSOLUTELY NOT IN DOUBT for it to have irl.
i understand if u do not want to add other nato missiles because there are no pictures of it with those mounted but as u say there is no proof that it cannot not mount r-60 then the r-73 has the same argument for your own logic.
you are genuinely losing potential customers by not at least giving it r-73, and not a little amount at all

Honestly I am fine with it losing the radar (even though it shouldn’t) but they should at least give it its proposed weapons fit such as R-73,Magic II and P3 and move it to 13.0

I did see a few tidbits saying the Sniper upgrade was intended to be a similiar upgrade (in terms of capability) to the Mig-21 Lancer upgrade by the same company(?). And that there were successful tests of Python 3 on that upgrade, but I haven’t seen anything directly saying the Sniper upgrade saw a 1:1 success in regards to testing that missile. A sort of “we intend for these to be the same but we aren’t saying they ended up that way” situation. So I guess I could see some confusion or frustration on kit availability.

At the very least give it R-73. It sucks that almost all the Mig-29s are horrible at such a high BR with their R-60Ms and its variants.

nah just remove it from the game, if they can add something that isn’t a carbon copy sure but just adding a missile that the other one can carry but doesn’t have them in game does not make it unique. Its like a premium feature you gotta pay to get the r-73 in italy while the current Mig-29 in the TECH TREE can carry them. pay 80 bucks to equip your r-73 cappable mig-29 with the r-73’s it already should have .I think it should be removed from the game before people can buy it.

I don’t understand why the EL/M-2032 radar was removed.
For this modernization program it’s known that the radar was not changed from the N019 of the original, but it came after Romania did the Mig 21 LanceR right? So it’s safe to assume if the program was continued, it would receive the EL/M-2032 radar like the LanceR did.
It would not be the first time a plane in this game received something based on an “assumption”. The mirage 4000 never had a radar installed, but it was assumed it would receive the Thomson RD radar (I know it’s not the same case as with the Sniper program that already had a radar, but still…)
I understand they don’t want to give it R-73 missiles, because they’re targetting a 12.7 BR or the Python 3 because there are no documents saying that it could use them, even though this came after the Mig 21 LanceR that could, though keeping it’s 12.7 BR.
The Sniper is a unique, one and done, vehicle. If it’s not added to the game in the best state that it could be in, means we’ll never see it at as the upgrade program envisioned it, and that’s sad for a Romanian that’s been playing the game since before tanks were even added.
I personally wanted to pick it up when it went to live, even if it only had R-60s, but as it stands the Sniper is just a 12.7 Mig 29 with digital RWR and western bombs, not worth picking up.
So at least add back the EL/M-2032 radar to it.
