okay thank you, I will hold out hope, similar things have happened in the past
you are claiming it is compatible thus putting the burden of proof on you, and to disprove you need a source as well, both ends need to provide some proof for their point, unless a source states that it was still compatible with Soviet weapons it is valid to assume it lost compatibility and would need work to reintegrate
You need to prove that the Sniper lost compatibility in the first place
actually the burden of proof is on you, you are the one claiming something changed
Firsrly, these are not my personal claims. Im here to provide answers from the devs. There is also nothing to disprove. Its well known what the 9-12 was compatable with and we have multiple of them in game. The new version simply carries that on, being a 9-12 base with the Sniper upgrade which does not contain anything about the removal of existing weaponry on the platform or weaponary in Romanian stocks.
Reports are more than welcome with counter information. But so far nothing in this topic has been provided that can be passed on for consideration.
You are suggesting something has changed from what is already known to be compatable with the aircraft.
the mig21 LanceR was upgraded similarly by elbit, with the express intention to keep compatability with existing romanian stockpiles of soviet weapons. it is very easy to assume that the same wouldve been done for the mig29 sniper
Different computer was used. Later on the LanceR was able to mount weapons from both sides of the Iron Curtain
There is nothing to suggest it wasnt compatable with Soviet weaponary. The fact the LanceR can further solidifies that.
So NATO stuff on the SnipeR?
If there are sources to show specifically which weapons were planed, tested or mounted, then as ive already mentioned reports can be made for this to be considered.
unfortunately the program was cancelled, so it likely never actually got that far, doing anything beyond what was actually done on the testbed model, would require some hard proof or a lot of begging
the wikipedia page for the sniper refences a romanian blog? i think, which says this
-the installation of a new radar (other than the one on the LANCER) is expected, of new fire-drafting and state-of-the-art electronic warfare systems – all of them coming from Israel, some similar to those on Lancer;
-it was also expected to integrate West Weapons, but also to maintain the Russian one where it was still performing.
Aripi romanesti : MIG 29 in RoAF... - Romania Military
but not exactly a strong source
I know. Was hoping for the “paper load out” path
we all were but unfortunately it appears italy/romania wont be the first nation to get a 13.0 premium
Another site also mentions weapons too
It would literally only make sense for it to get similar upgrades to the LanceR. Both were made during the same timeframe. The LanceR can carry both soviet and western weapons
Right now it’s just disappointing, considering that it was kinda hyped by others. The RWR, while is better, isn’t that much of a defining factor
honestly this happens constantly with warthunder I feel
yeah but only one of those programs ended up finishing, from what I can glean from people talking about it, all of the avionics were upgraded but the weapons and radar were still only being planned to be upgraded before the sniper program was left in favour of the lancer
Correct, it’s like that. And once again I’m asking why in this game double standard exist
I would like it to have any cool and unique weapons that wouldn’t put it at 13.0, the second we get that matchmaker, it comes at a great cost. 12.7 is just free food and full of other premiums and dodges top tier. After a wipe or two I’d be down, but I want to eat well for a little bit first and finish my last air tree grind beforehand lol.
From what I’ve read while creating suggestion for Sniper, it retained the original FCS.
Spoiler
Aircraft cockpit received a wide-angle head-up display with an upfront control panel, two 6 X 8 inches multifunction color displays, hands-on throttle and stick controls, as well as backup flight instruments. Sniper’s avionics were integrated via a new Elbit MMRC mission computer and MilStd-1553B data bus.
Navigation system was upgraded, it consisted of VOR/ILS/DME and an inertial navigation system coupled with a GPS receiver.
Upgrade for communication system included: Elbit data-transfer system, a new IFF transponder, two radio stations with frequency-hopping and secure-voice capabilities (AM/FM and UHF/VHF).
The original fire-control system wasn’t upgraded, but it was as well integrated with a new mission computer.
Romanian modernization included new the Elisra SPS-20(V) radar warning receiver providing the 2-18 GHz range with a bigger library which included threats that previous SPO-15 system wasn’t intended to find (USSR-based, as well as Russian).
OEPS-29E electro-optical system and N019E Topaz radar were, previous weapon systems were still presented on the plane in its final state.
