MiG-29 (9-12) should come with R-73 instead of R-27ER

R-27R+R-73 at 12.7 please. I’d rather have 6 decent missiles than 2 great and 4 useless ones. It’ll also give Russia a native R-72R slinger because those don’t exist outside of the Mig-21Bison.

As a counter question though, do you know what a normal distribution curve is?

nah i’d rather have r-27er over r73 for 12.7.
r27ers are just that good

No, but as my good friend says, “I don’t need to be a PhD candidate to understand that some bullshit is being rubbed into me.”
As a player, I will never choose the MIG-29 9-13 to play on 13.0, because I understand that this is a bad aircraft.
I’ll read about the “normal distribution curve” in my spare time, but most likely this knowledge will not change my opinion about this aircraft.

Short preface/clarification: I have no behind the scenes knowledge or influence when it comes to balancing in War Thunder. The things said below are just my personal understandings and thoughts based on statistical knowledge and math.

I don’t doubt that the MIG-29’s might be performing below average for their BR matching range, though i don’t know for certain as i haven’t played them myself so can’t really have an opinion on that yet.

TLDR:
A normal distribution curve (or bell curve) just means that when you have an average number of something then a majority of the time the distribution of a group of samples taken looks like this:

Meaning that very few things are massively over or under performing. There are naturally things that will perform below average and others that will perform above average. Once something starts nearing the edges of this distribution then it’s likely time to start arguing for a change in it’s BR. changing BR does however likely come with the risk of it landing at the other end of the new BR matching range it went to (going from best to worst or the other way around) depending on how far away from the average it’s doing before the change.

No, it shouldn’t.
It shouldn’t have R-73s either.
It should be 12.3 with R-60Ms and R-27Rs.

And yeah, it would be 13.0 as that’s where Mig-29G and 9.13 currently are.

The stock grind for the 9.13 pre update right now is horrible as those R-27Rs and R-60Ms arent exactly effective at 13.0+

Even with R-27ERs and R-73s i dont exactly think the MiG-29 is 13.0 material. Essentially everything at 13.0+ is better than you in every meaningful way at the BR (Better radar, RWR, CM Count, flight performance in some cases, etc etc).

But this is moreso a compression issue rather than a plane issue. If all the ARHs were to be moved up a BR or 2 the MiG-29s would perform significantly better.

I do agree that the all MiG-29s should be able to get their R-73s, with early MiGs like the 9.12s exchanging their R-27ERs for them, i dont think it should be added until proper decompression occurs.

to be fair the mig 29 G and 9.12 are same plane for germany no clue why they made 2 it should have been a skin the R27ER was never used on the MIG-29s in germany the only difference IRL is that it has NATO IFF so Germany could still use them

only cause you have 2 the R27R1 is a effective missile compared to the sparrow like AIM-7M

I’d love if we got another MiG-29 or two to really spread the weapons out imo.

9.12 → 12.3 w/ R-27R/60M
9.13 → 12.7 w/ R-27R/73
9.13S/SM → 13.0 w/ R-73/27ER
9.19R → 13.3 w/ 73/27ER/77
9.41R → 13.7-14.0 w/ 73/27ER/77-1

would be my ideal line up.

on average people barely get 0.7 kills per game, sure itll increase a bit at higher BRs, but still

F-14B is not fine especially compared to those other jets but I get your point.

Nah F-14B is clearly on par with Su-27S/J-11, why else would it have such a similar K/D.

F14 = SU30SM2 meaning it needs to be limited to AIM-7C and AIM-9B its too op or something and Pheniox needs to be limited to 1 G max overload and engines need to be 1/4 the thrust of the earliest model

R27er + r73

No, it wouldn’t.

No, they aren’t.

Please. Terrible reasoning and excuse. Statshark is reliable and accurate. You and the devs just don’t like that we have public data now so you can’t pretend things are OK when they aren’t.

apart from the horrific compression, they themselves are a remarkably competent aircraft for that BR

regardless of whether it should, we all know it would
