The MiG-23ML has received nerf after nerf, from mobility to radar. With all of the NATO premiums at BR 12.0-12.7 the MiG-23ML only gets uptiers now. 9 out 10 games are full uptiers against hordes of American and German F-18s which the MiG-23ML simply can not compete against. Not to mention the odd F-16, British Mig-21 Bison and now Italian MiG-29 Sniper.
By the time, if at all your radar locks on to an enemy plane your already dead. The R-60M are pretty useless as they are so easily flaired.
I am not asking for a buff, The radar is now historical (which is good) I am only hoping that the MiG-23ML could do down to BR 11.3 I think this could make sense as the MiG-23M is BR 11.0. While yes the MiG-23ML does have the R-24R, the radar is just so bad it doesnt really matter. As what good is a better missile if it never gets the chance to hit.
However I fear the MiG-23ML problem will be ignored as a future Soviet rank 8 premium aircraft will probably be added sometime this year and fixing the MiG-23ML may hurt sales of such new premium aircraft.

Uptiers are not a guarantee, and are down to BR popularity.
Mig-23ML is a fine 11.7.
The Mig-23M is drastically inferior.

Would need a nerf to drop down to 11.3. Its currently one of the best performing 11.7s in game. As both fighter and/or as a base bomber.
Prior to those “nerfs” it got. it was stupidly under BRed (as it stands I think the Mig-23MLD which is only slightly better should be 12.0)
Should point out. So are all other non-IRCCM in game at the moment. But the Mig-23ML has Large calibre flares where most have regular calibre.

I understand your disappointment about the MiG-23ML in the uptier match, so I understand why you want it to buff down to 11.3.
Yeah… compression is hell, and those 12+ 4th Gen prems are pain.
But sorry that I can’t agree that it needs to be 11.3BR.
Even if we consider that MiG-23ML suffers in current meta.
As long as it is infinitely better than Harrier II, Tonka, Su-24 or MiG-27M/K in ARB

I heard that it couldn’t carry R-24s IRL, so removing them and making it use R-23s instead would be a solution.
I blame BR compression for it being unfun to play, but even then it can hold it’s own in a mild uptier. It’s a very good plane if it’s not facing 12.3+, and it’s BVR capability is unrivalled.

Some reports are saying we should have manual control of MTI, maybe there is hope. Shame it has no tilt controls would make playing it better.
BR sucks, but there is always the chance decompression changes up the soft brackets and the mig23 will sit in a better spot. Can’t go down because the r24 is too good, just a shame it only gets 2. I find missile buses are a lot more enjoyable for arb gameplay.
