The thing is that ppl have been arguing that a Mig29 with r27r and r73 can’t stay 12.7 and would need to move up
And I think OP is complaining about that as well

I don’t think it(29 with R-73/27R) is current 13.0 material…
But what I meant was
If MiG-29 trade R-27ER with R-73 and remains 12.7
MiG-21bison still can’t go up to 12.7 because it will remain better than Bison at nearly all aspects.
It will be good for MiG-29 but will have no impact on 21bison.
If we need to discuss more about whether MiG-29 needs R-73 or not, we might need to find another place because this topic is mainly about MiG-21bison, not Fulcrum.
Cause R-73s would make Mig-29s 13.0, see Mig-29G.
Mig-21’s bad airframe is why it’s 12.3 instead of 12.7 with the Mirage 2000C which is its equal in armament.

The Bison is basically the Lazur-M but is higher in BR due to some internal improvements and better missiles. The airframe is still competent in a dogfight, but I’ll grant that the internal improvements aren’t enough to make it directly competitive and it shouldn’t be played that way. Better to play it as an ambusher.
I’ll grant that the missiles make the Bison, frankly. They are pretty bullsh at times but if it was running what the Lazur-M is running it’d be the same BR and I’ll have you know that the Lazur-M is Middlin’. Glad I picked it up for 50% off way back.

skill issue: R-73s are some of the best IR missiles and are almost the only ones that can filter flares and massive afterburners to go for the massive afterburners

that’s true asf: u can’t outmaneuver R-27s cuz its too fast and too maneuverable.
many other SARH missiles can be dodged with a barrel roll in a head-on cuz its reaction-time is slower than R-27s

Vampire is slower than 6.7 jets and can be outran by most 6.7 props, yet it is still 8.0, and the same can be said for the Venom, which is 8.7, so clearly speed is of no importance. The A-10A is an amazing plane, and it should be 11.3-11.7 (premium 11.3, tech tree 11.7), even if it is slower (like that matters when you get nothing but air spawns anyways).
Also yes, I have easily flared off R-73s with a singular flare on more than one occasion when I (Grippen, Eurofighter, Mirage) 1v1 my friends (MiG 29, Su-33, Su-27). Want me to send a video or something? I could get the lads on later and personally show you how I dodge them. Sounds like YOU have the skill issue if YOU cannot flare them off.
yeah ofc, speed isn’t important when ur plane can’t reach 900km/h but everything else can even reach 1250km/h
Yeah… the Venom can barely reach 900km/h, while having to face F-104s (which can break past Mach 1 very easily). What’s your point?
yeah ofc, i can’t flare R-73s at 12.0 with a uptiered Mirage with just 36 CM, a bad CM launcher positioned on the right side and only normal CM (not reinforced like almost everything at 12.0)
Again, sounds like a skill issue on your part. I use the Mirage F1C, and all I need to do is not afterburn for a total of three seconds and then flare once. That thing doesn’t even touch me. Literally the easiest thing to dodge.

depends at what distance the enemy launched it, obviously not 1.5km where literally every single skilled player with R-73 launches them
all i can say is that we need decompression, cuz im tired of facing Flankers and Eagles at 12.0
Su-33 should be 13.3, not 13.0
and everything at 13.0 should fr move up to 13.3/13.7 and we should get 16.0/18.0
